Let me dumb this down for you guys since you don’t seem to get it. YOUR TEAM DIDN’T SCORE! This isn’t a game of keep away. The ball has to go into the goal. Your daughters couldn’t do that at full strength. Then you get a call you don’t like. MCA leaves 3 in the back and the complexion of the game doesn’t change a bit. Mighty Spain... I mean MCA with 75% possession still couldn’t score. Was MCA hoping to go to PKs? Oh no... a freak play and a close non-call you didn’t like and you’re out.
Your team isn’t watching the rest of the playoffs from the stands because of 2 calls. They were eliminated because THEY COULDN’T SCORE!

I would like to caution all failed and frustrated athletes from the past to not put your daughter on a pedestal. All you are doing is applying pressure to a child who doesn’t need it. From the verbiage in some of these posts it looks as if there will be several Todd Marinovich’s roaming Louisiana. Pipe down a little for the love of your child!!

What I see is a bunch of sore losers complaining about the officiating. Sure, MCA was the better team but the players couldn’t put the ball where it needed to go.

Imagine that. A couple of MCA parents telling the very experienced refs who have commented they don’t know what they are talking about and citing other teams poor sportsmanship... pot, meet kettle. This is how you retarded you are. Experienced refs? In Louisiana? One of the poorest producing states of soccer talent in USA? The poor level of the refs only matches the poor stereotypical standard we see on the field game in and game out. Stay inside your NS High School bubble. We’re now off to U.S. Development Academy soccer in Texas. Enjoy your kick ball and long throw-ins. 🤪 thanks! We will also have fun in our semifinal game 🤪

Red card earned. She better get thicker skin over at the DA, because they aren't going to let her run free either. And why the hate on LA soccer? Apparently, the level of play here allows you to live in the reflected glory of your daughter's accomplishments.

I was starting to miss the posts from the SSA dads, but this thread is much more entertaining. Meh... At least the SSA dads backed up their sh$t-talking with state championships, and if not, knew when to shut up.

What an unfortunate (but accurate) representation of what happens when the private schools don't get their way. Hope daddy's paycheck can pay for tissues- it sounds like someone's teary-eyed.

Some of you are getting your chains yanked and it is making for a solid board banter! I could say "act like you been there" but then I realize most haven't. Good luck to those moving forward in the playoffs...stay healthy.

Tell us all how much more you know about the game than everyone else. Complain about the fields, the refs, and how the better team lost. Same crap- different year. At least the SSA dads are funny when they complain. My Northshore bubble ended last year, but will always pull for the Panthers. Whoever wins Friday really makes me no difference as Coach Al is also a friend. One thing is for certain. MCA parents will complain about everything when they lose. As Tank said, “BYE”.

These private school comments are really unnecessary. I work very hard to send my kids to private school to avoid the perennial deplorable Louisiana public school system. I will stop greeting some of you at Walmart if these comments continue.

I am extremely happy with the way it turned out regardless of what happens in the next 10 days.

FYI... it's even harder to score vs those big bad DA teams.

The Private v Public debate has nothing to do with the game or the playoffs in general. Parents make decisions based on what is best for their child and family. To demean those choices is pointless. As for the game...it is noteworthy because the team that dominated did not win. That in itself is not unheard of, but when two pivotal calls go against the team in control of the match it is going to generate some emotional discussion. Most people acknowledge a foul or yellow card was warranted. Up until that point the game was not overly physical and both teams were playing within the rules. I am not a long time watcher of girls youth soccer, but this is the first red card I have ever witnessed. Seeing the play several times I still do not think it was the right call in that situation. A yellow and talking to the player would have diffused the situation. After that call the game got progressively physical and as is usually the case, the less talented team ended up committing a majority of the fouls. I don't think this observation can be disagreed with. In OT, it was unfortunate the line judge missed the offsides, but it was a freak play and I can understand why it would be missed. Bottom line is MCA had there chances and in some cases were only inches away from converting. Those are the breaks sometimes. I feel for the athletes who are ending their HS careers, but I think MCA has a bright future with most of their players returning.

Actually, Louisiana has produced quite a few fine referees...one was a former Fifa, there have been a number of national, you have seen Louisiana referees on MLS, USMNT, USWNT, and international matches, there has been representation of Louisiana referees at US Youth Nationals for at least 10 consecutive years, as well as at US Youth and Amateur regionals, USSF DA Academies, many prestigious tournaments, and winning a number of awards.
It’s easy to point to one game where YOU feel the referee did poorly and lump them all into the same pot as terrible. If that gives you comfort, then by all means, continue on.
Just know that when it gets into the playoffs, coaches normally request specific officials to work the middle, and both would have signed off on this one.
And one final note, if you’re going to go on and on about how blatantly “offsides” the CL player was, please know that it is not plural and it is “offside.” At least then you’d at least make one accurate statement regarding rules if you were to singularize it. Thanks.

Well said Metry. Like I said before MCA did have a ton of opportunities and emotions are/were high. Private schools vs public schools is really not relevant and the fact that people are just throwing digs at each other is not necessary.
