Clear and cold high 40s dropping to 40 when the sun goes down. Whoever faces the sundown in first hal will be at a disadvantage as the jeeper will have to deal with the sun Not much wind should be great playing conditions for the players. Loyola with a huge tailgating spread free for all always a crowd favorite

This was a great game from start to finish. The playoffs brings a different kind of intensity and this game looked nothing like our first game. I kept falling asleep watching film of the first time we played...it was that slow. Tonight was quick, aggressive (but clean), and what you expect at this stage. Both teams played their hearts out and I want to say congrats to Coach Oertling and his players for pushing us to the end. In the heat of the moment things are competitive and I respect those values he gives his teams. They fight hard and you have to earn everything.
We had a few good chances from set pieces and corners...a couple off the crossbar and a St. Louis defender had a great goal line clearance to keep it at 0's. Difference was a beautiful reverse pass to a blindside run which was calmly slotted to the far post and stingy defense.
After graduating 10 seniors last year, 5 All State players, and moving up a division, my girls could have easily made the season theme "rebuilding season". Instead they chose "repeat season". For our seniors this will be their 3rd final in their four years. University is a great team and we are thankful for the opportunity to play them in the finals.
Proud of my Lady Flyers...would love to see the boys win to make it an all Loyola-ULab final in D3.
Thanks to the Shreveport soccer community for coming out and supporting us. Lots of club teammates and friends in attendance tonight.

Congratulations to Coach Matlock and the Loyola Girls on a hard fought victory. Even though Loyola put St. Louis out of the Girls and Boys playoffs this season, we have a ton of respect for your coaches, players, and program. Thank you also to the Loyola parents for their generosity and hospitality in feeding our girls after the game. I wish you the best of luck in the finals.
Thanks,
Jason Oertling St. Louis Catholic Soccer
