If you look at these teams through the exclusive lens of playoff results, you would be more impressed by the way CE has performed. Through two matches, CE has a goal differential of +7. The one item of concern I've had with CE is the number of goals they've allowed. This currently sits at four through two playoff games. Can they tighten up their defense will be of the utmost importance. To score on their upcoming opponent is not easy. I love the ability of CE to go and score, but I severely dislike their goals allowed.
Being the one seed is very tough. Each team will mull over every option and dump the WARNING VIRUS sink on you. Dunham had played Episcopal a few weeks before the playoffs, and they used this to their advantage. They held E. of BR to just one goal and made the Episcopal side miserable. Then an underrated PJP team went to Episcopal and left with a 1-2 result. The fact that E of BR has only given up one goal in the playoffs is very intriguing to a person that believes in defense above all else. The mere two-goal margin would only bother me if others we're scoring.
Gallstar pick Episcopal of BR 3-1

I think this one goes down to the wire. CE scores early either side of halftime and EpBR ties it up in first half but falls short in the second half. 3-2 CE in a revenge match from a few months ago.

Really great seeing CES having so much success after only having a high school for a few years now. It’s got me wondering if they’ve taken talent that may have otherwise gone to SPS or northlake.

According to my sources, they actually lose quite a bit of talented 6,7, and even 8th graders to St. Pauls and sometimes Northlake.

Not recruiting correct! This is not allowed ever! Just to make sure we cleared this up before a war broke out. They are Christ and just in case you missed his resume it's filed three drawers above Moses and two above Moser’s.

I’ll say CE 2-1. The 4 goals don’t mean much to me seeing they were up by at least a couple goals and were most likely resting players. They’ve also had close to a dozen shutouts on the year.(I think, someone can fact check me) They seem to be on a goal scoring run right now. Should be a great match for both back lines. I’ve seen both play and they are each very good.

Having watched both teams play, I think CES is a bit more dynamic and more of an offensive threat. Their Defense is solid. I picking CES 4-1. Yes, you heard right! Let's hope the mud bowl (The PIT II) is in better shape for this semi-final..

According to my sources, they actually lose quite a bit of talented 6,7, and even 8th graders to St. Pauls and sometimes Northlake. That is correct. It's a two way street with most all of the traffic leaving. St. Paul's has two starters that attended CES then left. Jesuit has one starter. Not aware of NLC. St. Pauls has bench and JV starters who left CES. Partly family legacy, partly religion. Also academics. Both have excellent academic standards. CES has a National Merit Scholar on their small roster. They have had some in the recent past too. Social factors. CES has a very small but growing enrollment consisting female majority.SPS gives them access to SSA students There is an irony that some boys who leave end up bench players or even get cut. Very talented players. All this applies to other sports too. Basketball, cross country for example. also applies to girls going to SSA. ***edit Today it was announced that the young man that i mentioned became a National Merit Scholar Finalist.

I haven’t seen Christ Episcopal play at all this year, but I had a chance to watch episcopal play some games at COPA and they seem pretty solid and have a solid defense. That’s why I’m going to predict a Episcopal victory 3-1 with a third goal coming late in the game.

Both of these teams came out with a 3-1 loss to lusher. CE midfield is very talented and will be a very strong opponent for Episcopal’s midfield.

Team with the most set pieces, and by that I mean throw-ins thrown into the box on their very narrow 35 yd. wide field.. That was our downfall... St. Amant definitely has a challenger for narrowest field!

State law LHSAA 7.35 states no field can be more narrow than the Pit.

I'm biased but I bring you data:
EHS vs CER was a 5-0 win for the Knights on nuetral turf. CES will say they didn't have their club players but 5 goals is a lot. Edge EHS.
vs Lusher EHS lost 1-3 away and CES lost 1-3 at home. This time EHS was missing players. Edge EHS.
vs PJP EHS won 2-1 at home in the Quarters, CES won 2-0 away in districts. Edge CES.
Strength of schedule also goes to EHS as 7 of 19 games were against state semi-finalists and they went 3-3-1. That's hard to even schedule!
EHS 2-1.

Pro tip: a throw-in has to be touched by another player before it can be a goal. GK's & referees take note. No 3-point shots from beyond the arc allowed in soccer. If it's gonna be all net from the throw, let it go - unless the ref is checking Laprep during the play.
