Wow looks like a great game. I might try to catch this one. I'll take laffy just because i know the players and how well they can play when they work together.

This will prob. end up in a tie. Lafayette apparently struggled after their 7-day layoff against STM. BM is coming off a tournament win and are probably more focused. Should be a good game that can go either way.

Excellent game...well played by both squads...
In the first half, LHS had a number of opportunities, three off the post, and mounted quite an impressive attack. Their play in the midfield was impressive, spreading the field and playing a much better game at the touch lines. It was nice to see the work in the forward third between Belfour, Menard, Ellender, Hubble, and Carter, who scored the only goal of the first half on a great pass from Belfour, which ended up at 1-1. Give credit to BM for their level of intensity in the first half and actually the entire game, but I think it could have been a little lopsided in first half if not for the excellent play of the posts. But that is finishing right? The goal that BM scored was off a cross that was solidly struck in the mouth of the goal after a couple of touches.
The second half started with a goal by BM. Lesson learned on that one. There was a foul called and there was a bit of a drop in LHS's attention and BM put it down quick and in two touches sent a ball outside the 18 into the top of the far post. Bam!
The second goal was a PK on a foul to Carter in the box. Belfour made it look easy...He played awesome tonite!
At this point, I was getting a bit excited so I lost track of the details, so I'd defer to the players, but the next two goals were scored by BM, which made it 3-2 BM. I think Todd scored the next one from a good shot well outside the 18, I could be wrong on that one, sorry...
Ellender scored the final goal probably during injury time or at least at the very end of regulation.
Although BM played with a lot of heart, LHS was a different team tonite than they were Tuesday against STM. Still a few problems on the weak side of the defensive third with the backs not being goal side allowing for the ball and the player to be in their field of vision, but it was the middle tonite that demonstrated their capacity to initiate counters...Wonderful to see that all the guys played together tonite.
Ghandi had a bit more work in the mouth tonite, but made a wonderful one-handed save with his left hand moving to his left that was a sight to see...The BM goalie definitely earned his pay...he played well under a good bit of pressure...
Final, LHS 4, BM 3. I don't think anyone could say that it could have gone either way. LHS looked good...much better in the first half. The also finished the second half strong. BM was definitely pressing...

That sums it up well. Once Lafayette gets back into to tip-top fitness shape, we will be able to play a full 80 minutes. Midfield played much better than tuesday, and the back four really stepped it up, despite minor problems. Lafayette has a sophmore, Logan McQuirk, who is playing very well in the backfield, which allows Bryan Prejean to play outside fullback.

Todd had the first goal on a low drill from about 20 yards out. 1-0 LHS
Brother Martin scored off a volley with about 10 minutes left in the first half. 1-1
Half time
Carter scores on a slight breakaway for Lafayette 2-1 Lafayette.
BM scores of a quick kick to the left side and the guy put a good shot in the side netting from about the corner of the 18. 2-2.
Lafayette gets a pk. Belfour scores. 3-2 Lafayette
BM scores on a header off a cross that gets bounced around a little within the 6. 3-3
Ellender scores with a chip over the keeper with about 5 minutes left. 4-3 Lafayette.
The game was controlled by Lafayette until they started subbing and then Brother Martin started really testing the Lafayette goal. Second half was fairly back andforth and even. Lafayette had the better opportunities in the game, but it was about what I expected. These two very well might meet up again in the playoffs.
