This is the big game! Loyola vs Vandy! Loyola being the team that defeated vandy in the semis last year in a heartbreaking way. Vandy will want revenge and with the huge #1 target on their back Loyola wants to pull off the upset. That’s being said this year I have to say Vandebilt is straight class and never give up. Loyola will have to play this one at Vandy as well! My game prediction for this game will be that Vandy take a W 3-0 with Vandebilts crowd as a huge factor and the return of Vandebilts All Star Striker. I can see this going the other way as well but only time will tell!

Loyola was the team to end the season of Vanderbilt a year ago. It was a perfect spot to catch the terriers. They had just defeated the one seed St. Louis side and shocked the soccer world. Loyola would find the ideal formula to carry that momentum to the last minute of the state finals, but then Uhigh broke their hearts. The only route to revenge for Loyola of that loss to Uhigh goes through a tenacious challenge. They'll have to travel 5 hours to play an 11:00 AM Kickoff. If they try to stay the night before, those hotel beds are never to comfy. I would be very interested in finding out how the time of this match was Determined.
The Vandy side comes in off an 8-0 quarter-final blanking of their last opponent. They've not allowed a goal in the playoffs. Ten seniors lead them, and I've heard that they've been getting healthy. One rumor has been spreading about Vandy will be having a soccer pep rally. I must say if true, that's pretty intense and awesome of their school. I've pulled against Vandy once this season because of a ball boy wager I made. This loss will end up being the turning point of their season. They stopped yapping and Started dialing in. They've not been scored on since Lafayette, and they've played very nice competition.
I don't feel comfortable making my pick at this time but will wait to see if I find out any details from the Pep Rally? I like both teams so much that Gallstar needs to hear from each school to persuade him as to why their team is the most deserving.

These arguments all feel one sided. Will any Loyola fans show up to argue for their team?

These arguments all feel one sided. Will any Loyola fans show up to argue for their team? They’re too busy doing hudl statistics well they need to break the hudl soon because gallstar lives in a show me now kind of pace. I'm over in Texas searching for future St. Paul players.

Vandy 3-0 or more... Loyola relies to much on direct play and Vandy will expose it.

Loyola has two losses since the beginning of Dec, both by 1 goal margins. They have pace in the back and are an experienced group. I think it will be close. 1 goal game with set pieces making a difference. I will buck the trend and say 2-2 in regulation, Loyola scores in golden goal OT.

Vandebilts goalie hasn’t given up more than 2 goals in a single game besides Lafayette this whole year and no one has ever scored more than 4 on him. For Loyola to find the back of the net 3 times will be very impressive! I know Loyola’s foward #18 is quality as well as #6,#11, and 12 for Loyola. They are very technical and love to play long balls into the box and shoot from range and are good with set pieces! Both teams are very strong so it should be a great game!

Fried shrimp and fish on the menu for game. Come and get it. Making me want to make the trip down now! Unfortunately work calls … I anticipate it'll be a close game with a late minute Vandy stunner. I anticipate Loyola will dominate the air balls and corners with their height and that's where I think the terrific Vandy keeper will find trouble. Doesn't matter how good of a keeper you are when you get a headed shot back post from 8 yards out as you're tracking across your goal line from a cross...that's a tough save to make.
However, I believe the early kickoff combined with the long drive will leave Loyola a bit more fatigued than normal and that will cost them in the last minutes of the game/OT
Vandy 2-1
