This thread is for people to talk about any and all kids who you feel deserve all-state. Unfortunately not every coach will nominate their kids. Some coaches either forget or just have moved on. So if there are any kids that you feel should be discussed and talked about, please do so here. Hopefully this will help coaches select who is truly deserving.
Please list the following
Player name and # Position Class Small excerpt on why you're nominating him/her.
Example John Smith #3 Right back Junior
John has been an integral part in our team this season. He has recorded 5 assists, 2 goals and is big reason our defensive unit has only allowed 15 goals all season. etc..

I'll go first.
East Jefferson
Christopher Paz #22 Center Mid / Winger Junior
Chris stepped up as our captain this year, and even through the struggles we faced this year, he did his part on getting the boys up for it and helped finish off the season strong. Crafty player with good speed and great knowledge of the game. Also a great student in his studies. Finished the season with 6 goals and 4 assists.
Jefreey Flores #10 Forward / Attacking Mid Junior
Jefreey was the player every coach would comment to me on after every game. Great technical ability and a cannon for a left leg. Jefreey was able to fill the void of losing a lot of talent from last season and made an impact for us right away. If he jumps on a club team he will be a force to reckon with next season. Finished the season with 7 goals and 4 assists.
Jefry Noriega #4 Centerback / Forward Sophomore
Jefry was second team All-State last season as a Freshman. He's a forward in club, but has put his ego aside to help out his team, once again, by anchoring the back line for us. 5 of our losses this season were when Jefry was playing forward instead of centerback. He is the glue for us on the back line. Phenomenal player and great student.
Dany Cuellar #5 Right back / Winger Freshman
Dany stepped up for us at right back after our returning Senior tore his ACL before the season. Took him a few games, but the kid showed flashes of brilliance throughout the season. Arguably one of the quicker players on the pitch and may be the best 1v1 attacker I've personally seen at EJ since Ozny Calderon ('14 All-State). The kid has the physical attributes to take his game to the next level. He has the potential to be very special. He's in honors and has a 10.0 GPA, very bright kid. Finished the season with 5 goals and 1 assist. Yes, all goals came from playing right back.

Gavyn Keim, No. 10 Center Mid Senior
Hannan's best player by far this year. Finished with double digit goals and assists against a very difficult schedule. One of our captains. A player that almost every coach that we played against asked about at the end of the game. Worked extremely hard.

Destrehan
Nicholas Morrow #2 Outside Midfielder Junior
Nicholas was one of the captains this year playing right mid. Nicholas has great technical and crossing ability. He has made a huge impact on Destrehan's team, tallying a total of 9 goals and 13 assists. A player that coaches would comment on after games.

You aren’t catching him if he’s through.

Reminder... The official thread for member coaches to talk about All State is the LHSSCA members board as you must be a member to nominate and vote in any high school sports coaches association. All coaches who have not joined yet, please go to the thread at the top of the boards in announcements and go join ASAP! The process starts next week.
So all LHSSCA members, please go to the members board and participate there. The membership has been updated on laprep IDs as of a couple weeks ago Thanks

David Thibodaux:
Max Pesacreta #29 Center back Junior
Max is a two-time Div. III Dist. 4 Defensive MVP and three-time 1st team All-District member. He has been our best player since he stepped on the field as a freshman. He's the best 1v1 defender that I've seen in the state and is incredibly smart playing passing lanes and defending through balls. He anchors our defense that only gave 19 goals (8 were given up in our first two games while we were breaking in several new players). In addition to being our best defender and the main cog in our defensive system, he added a couple of goals including a beautiful 30+ yard free kick in district.

I can’t speak for the others as much as I haven’t coached them, but having coached Steib at the club level, he’s meant for All-State. A great kid that does everything he’s asked to do on the soccer field. Might not show up with goals and assists, but dominates in the air and is an excellent 1v1 and team defender.

Ascension Christian-Division IV
Bohdi Linton #1 SR--19 goals, 14 assists in 2019-20. First team All district for the 6th time (Bohdi started play in 6th grade--was one of the last players to do so before the rule changed not allowing sub 7th graders to play varsity). Was a captain for the last two years, has been a 3x all state player, 2x Advocate All Metro Baton Rouge and 2x District MVP. Finished career at Ascension Christian as the schools all time leader in career assists, season assists, assists in a single game, games played, games started, and minutes played, along with being second all-time in career goals for AC. Bohdi started and played in 114 consecutive varsity matches in his career--which if not an LA HS record certainly puts him in the top 5 all time. He never missed a game in a career that spanned 6 years of varsity play.
UPDATE: was chosen to the The Advocate All Metro Baton Rouge Team for the third time, was also chosen as All Ascension Parish

If you have not seen #7 Jeanfreau play, he’s something special to watch. As a mid and to have that many goals speaks for itself. But he’s a playmaker. Has such technique and finesse on the field. And he’s only a sophomore. He was all-state as a freshman last year if I recall.

Didn't join the LHSSCA this year. Did it last year and really heard nothing else from joining. These are my All State nominations from St. Michael: Quin Reed, Junior, nominated for first team all district, center midfielder, 32 Goals, 13 Assists, plays multiple positions as the game dictates, coachable player. Landry Latour, nominated for first team all district, attacking midfielder, 24 goals, 8 assists, has the ability to take over and dominate a game, controls the midfield.
Stay safe everyone. Remember the recommendation to social distance!

Vandebilt Catholic Nicholas Mahrle Goalkeeper Senior
Nick had 267 recorded saves in 34 games and had 1 goal conceded in the playoffs. He was a team captain and lead his team to a District Title. Nick made 1st team all District and the LHSAA All Star game. Vandebilt went 22-4-8 while winning the Copa Acadiana this year as well. Nick recorded 20 shutouts on the year as well. Vandebilt also made it to Runner Up for the State Championship game.
Vandebilt Catholic James Leaber Striker Senior
James along with Nick were team captains. James played astounding all year being the teams leading goal scorer and being named 1st Team all District Offensive MVP. James also was on the LHSAA All Star with Nick. James was MVP of the Copa Acadiana Tournament as well. James was arguably the best attacker in Div III! James was a key contributor to the State Championship opportunity for the Terriers.

In addition to being our best defender and the main cog in our defensive system, he added a couple of goals including a beautiful 30+ yard free kick in district. Hopefully I did this correctly. I can speak for this nomination. I've trained this kid since middle school, he has incredible work ethic and poise on and off the field. He has always been the best player on the field for his team and I will say his defending is top class. Everything spoken for by his coach is this thread I can 100% vouch for because we've worked on these things for years and its been great watching him translate that in game time situations and STILL having another year left to at worst repeat his performance. The kid is worth his weight in gold and without a doubt deserves to make an all state team.
