This thread is for people to talk about any and all kids who you feel deserve all-state. Unfortunately not every coach will nominate their kids. Some coaches either forget or just have moved on. So if there are any kids that you feel should be discussed and talked about, please do so here. Hopefully this will help coaches select who is truly deserving. Please list the following Player name and # Position Class Small excerpt on why you're nominating him/her. ExampleJohn Smith #3 Right back JuniorJohn has been an integral part in our team this season. He has recorded 5 assists, 2 goals and is big reason our defensive unit has only allowed 15 goals all season. etc..

I know we are going through difficult times right now, but I think it would mean so much to and raise the spirits of the boys that worked so hard on and off the field to finalize the All-State Team. Will it be finalized this year as the season commenced before Coronavirus? I hope so because there were seniors that will never get the chance again and some others that deserve to be on the team as well. Anyone that knows for sure please let us know. Thanks and hope everyone is safe and healthy.

They pushed voting into April sometime so that the districts and regions could get their voting finished first.

I second nssoccermom's post and add my own thoughts. It's not a good look for this to take so long. Seriously till awaiting some Districts to complete their voting? Firebruin mentioned regions, do you mean the lists the local papers compile? What's the motivation for waiting until those are done and who is the "they" who pushed the voting? LHSSA or the coaches assn? I'm not throwing shade on anybody, really just curious because the passage of time gives the impression that Louisiana high school soccer is not very organized and not a high priority. (Oh, I know, no need to comment on that statement.)
I understand many or all have teaching duties outside of soccer but knocking out a voting process certainly can't take up as much time as coaching during the season. I also understand and appreciate that COVID-19 has upended everyone's routines in the last couple of weeks.
Remember when you were a teenager? Take those memories and add in being forced to stay home with no interaction with friends, girlfriends/boyfriends, classmates, and teammates for an undetermined duration that could be many weeks/months.
Hey, what happened to this board's formerly omnipresent resident troll? Social distancing under his bridge I guess. I hope everyone is well and stays that way - AT HOME!!

Please direct all of this blame and displeasure towards pOkLEHe’s a slacker I agree with the previous comment. The kids have been through enough with having the rest of the school year yanked out from under them. Club soccer cancelled, banquet cancelled, graduation, senior trips, hanging with friends, etc. This can be something that they can actually hold on to in spite of everything that has vanished from their very eyes. With all of the free time coaches and the association has on their hands now, it should be a more swift process than ever. Please recognize these deserving kids in a timely fashion as they have worked all of their lives for this. Thank you.

These kids could give a rats a$$ about this right now. They are enjoying these days off of sleeping in more than you know
It’s the parents that NEED to have this so they can feel complete. I’d recommend binge watching Tiger King on Netflix to fill those voids or to promote your self superiority complexes
Just stay at home

I disagree completely with this. I don't think that kids are enjoying sleeping in with no school or activities. Many have lost their last memories of high school, college, etc. It's interesting that basketball keeps releasing their information. I guess basketball players are just different?

****Types up a certificate**** And everyone gets all-state honorable mention! Guess how many times my players have texted me about all-state? Zero... They could care less because it won't get announced at school for their friends to hear, and my player who will probably get named all-state could care less when it comes out.

If these kids are forgetting memories that happen only a month or two ago, maybe higher education isn't the thing for them

I’d recommend binge watching Tiger King on Netflix to fill those voids or to promote your self superiority complexes Just stay at home I am not sure how dedicated to and passionate about the sport of soccer your child is, but mine is obviously more inclined than yours. He still trains daily, works out, runs, eats healthy and also takes an on-line training regime for club soccer. So please speak for yourself if you’re ‘own’ kid can give a rats a$$ about their accomplishments. I’ve had my years of sports awards, thank you.I do not need to live vicariously through my children, which is what you were insinuating. And I detect a bit of jealousy/resentment with your self-superiority complex comment. Must be that your child is average or sub-par so the All-State team is if no interest to you. If that is the case, then take your trolling to FB or Twitter and away from a thread that pertains to kids and parents that actually CARE about accomplishing and striving for their very best. Not everyone sleeps in, lays around and binge watches during this time. There are far more healthy and constructive things to do. And just the word ‘binge’ makes me wonder what kind of role model you are for this time ‘off’ with your children. And yourself. 🤔

They could care less because it won't get announced at school for their friends to hear, and my player who will probably get named all-state could care less when it comes out. Sucks for you. Guess you don’t have any viable candidates or kids that are truly passionate about soccer. Mine is building his dream~his resume for an athletic scholarship for college and just a sense of accomplishment for all of his hard work all season. He is quiet, humble, selfless and the furthest from a showboat you will ever see on a soccer field. So my kid is not waiting to hear his name announced in the school halls. Sorry to burst your bubble. I am so disappointed to hear of a coach having such a negative attitude. I sincerely feel for the kids that you coach and do not blame them for not wanting to reach out to you. So glad you don’t coach my son or we would be transferring before the season even started.

Well, I already nominated my players for all-state a couple of weeks ago so there isn't much else that I can do since I'm not in charge.
