All of these efforts (Gulf South Texans, Sting, Dynamo, Louisiana United) are moving the ball in the right direction. At least these teams are proving that there are some Louisiana players good enough to compete nationally. But in order to succeed, these individual efforts must become collective and unified. And the Louisiana players can't be locked into a single ECNL club opportunity with only 2 Discovery Player spots available. It's not until U18 that the DP spots increase from 2 to 4 and that's too late. On top of that, the level of coaching and training here must ramp up exponentially. The rest of the country has professional, full time soccer coaches. Louisiana has coaches who do their best with their available time, but almost all have day jobs. Can anyone name any full time soccer coaches in Louisiana, where that's ALL they do? Yes, I can. Most of the large Clubs have many full time Coaches. Technical Directors at Clubs “should” be highly qualified and full time. Most Coaches holding an “A” license or higher should most likely be full time.

All he does is soccer.

We have five full time coaches with Shreveport United, 3 of those with A licenses. It is a misconception that the rest of the country has better coaching. When I took my kid to TX for her senior year to play in Dallas (with a so called Elite level club - with ECNL former DA etc) I would routinely sit between 4 fields and watch training...I would take my staff over 90% of what I saw over there. Many sessions were honestly terrible. They just have a bigger pool of players, that’s it.

Far bigger pool of kids. I believe that is why we need that one team in LA that brings together all the best players in the state if we want to build our brand.

I doubt you will get every Club in the State to come together on this project. Some Clubs have higher ambitions than others. I believe that the complexity of coordinating every Club in the State would be too much as well. I would think some Clubs would work together on this and others will be happy to continue on as is.
