Greetings,
Has anyone received an update on the LHSSCA nominations? I’ve sent a couple emails which have gone unanswered and was curious if they canned the nominations? Thanks

The powers that be said there was an extreme level on nomination non-participation by coaches of both genders, so it was not acted upon. I guess with many coaches, their view on HS coaching responsibilities conclude when they get their paycheck at the end of February....... sad for our kids........ I am sure that many of them just got very busy with club soccer this past spring.........

Most coaches do the absolute minimum that is required, especially when out of season. I've said it time and time again, especially on the boys side. It's ironic that some of the really successful coaches in each area of the state choose not to participate, either on this board, MaxPreps, post-season nominations, etc. It's like those things are underneath them. It isn't hard to respond to emails/texts. But some just don't see the importance.

Vote on it the same way the state all star team is voted on and play a east vs west game around the state cup. And have rookie-3rd year coaches coach the teams. That would add some excitement to the award and add to the year end celebration of the season. Now where is that suggestion box?!?

How pitiful is that?! Coaches had months of quarantining on the couch with nothing to do and couldn't be bothered to send in email nominations.

And not fair to the coaches who DID nominate their players and now they won't be recognized.

Would it be possible to post the players that were nominated? If we can't vote on them, can we at least recognize them in some way. If nothing more than a list.... Maybe that would get a fire lit under some of the coaches who did not nominate anyone? Nothing like a little pressure from mom and dad as to why coach A did not nominate little Suzy?

I nominated 2 of my boys... Not sure about our girls, but we did have 1 freshman who scored most of the team's goals. First Bonnabel girls playoff win in a decade or two.

If you had just one nominee recognize the individual. Also the committee has not responded to coaches queries on this matter. Not very responsible. The community deserves an explanation.
