All of these results are interesting to me.

Mandeville 1 Slidell 0
Temp - freezing cold Field conditions - horrible. 3 refs Senior night. National Anthem sung by a young miss Tassin. Pizza was served by Fat Boys Pizza truck.
This game isn’t a true rival game but more of two teams that have a great deal of respect for each other and play each other hard. Last year this game was a 2-0 win for us. Stayed 0-0 for 60 minutes.
First 10mins of game there was some back and forth possession from both teams. Mandeville had 2 good shots but two better saves my Slidell keeper.
The most important goal came from no other senior Thomas McDavid. A quick counter with a ball played into space and he was able to beat a flat footed defender and finish the ball in the back left corner of the net. After that shot Slidell keeper pretty much said never again. MHS controlled most of possession in the late first half. With a few more shots but Slidell defended well and the keeper was just super human. At about 5 mins left in first half Slidell had their first chance at goal. A bad clearance gave number 7 (I think) a quick counter and he bursted in light fast pace past two defenders to get a 1v1 with the keeper. Senior keeper Jack Hunley made an incredible stop at the top of the 18. Both player shaken up from impact.
Start of second half both teams made some adjustments. Now both teams went into a sloppy long ball. After both coaches putting a stop to this madness and getting them to play better organized the game got better. Back up keeper is in for Mandeville now. Senior Aidan Shattuck. Both keepers making some good saves. At about 20mins in second half Slidell had a free kick just outside 18 and about 35 yards away from goal. Slidell went for goal curved ball around wall heading to bottom corner and hits post and bounced out. Close one. Great shot. Mandeville had 2 quick counters and both were 1v1 with keeper but keeper refused to let anyone beat him. The man was a monster. At 8 mins to go. Game was all Slidell. Ball stayed in MHS half with a few shots and some great stops by MHS defenders. Slidell had 8 guys forward fighting for the win. Final whistle blew. Game over.
Man of the match Slidell Keeper. Score could have been a lot higher if a lesser keeper was in.
Coach Wilmer is a new coach to the high school scene but an experienced coach no less. He has made huge improvements in just one year with the team. I would not be surprised to see Slidell back as a powerhouse very soon. A lot of respect for him.
After game both teams celebrated with pizza.

Lusher - 8 St. Michael - 0
Due to COVID, I'm fairly certain St. Michael was missing a few key starters. Lusher was at full strength.
Lusher started the scoring 2 minutes in, and kept rolling after that. Half ended 4-0, and Lusher was able to get all 26 of their players substantial minutes. Lusher got some scrum goals in the second half, and the game ended with about 20 minutes to play.
We hated to end it early, as this has been a conversation consistently on this site about what to do as the game gets out of hand. However, both teams worked hard and were respectable through the end.
When St. Michael gets healthy, they will definitely be a contender!

Zachary 2 BR High 0
We scored in the first 45 seconds from a long range effort from #22. That took the wind out of BR High pretty quick. The first half would be pretty even. Mainly played in the midfield. Lots of turn overs and take aways and not many chances created. Pretty physical match up. Br High did pick it up in the final 10 minutes of the first half, applying plenty of pressure but lacking the final pass. Half ends 1-0 in favor of ZHS.
Second half was just as even, both teams making adjustments at half time. The adjustments opened the game up and more chances were created by both teams. We scored in the first 10-12 minutes of the second half. #22 with a beautiful half volley from distance giving ourselves a cushion and some confidence. Defense stepped up and denied BR High as they looked to get numbers forward, especially on the backside. Always a close competitive match up between these two teams.

you last 4 guys don't hold a candle in the "write up requests" to our friend from MHS...where was you'lls temperature, doppler speeds, ref colors, field saturation measurements, dietary restrictions, jean brands, et al.? Gallstar needs all that to continue making his predictions.

Gallstar needs all that to continue making his predictions. Thank you, coach. I'm beyond tired of asking. I love you by the way and I'm strongly considering another run on the wolf Bandwagon if Sf. Amant loses to Central Lafourche again.
