I saw this in the boys side and figured we need one of these on the girls side as well.
I’ll start:
Madison Ersoff keeper at Caddo Magnet has narrowed her choice down to; Lyon College (AR) NAIA and Centenary College D3. She will decide after one more visit with both schools/teams to each in mid February.

LHSAA rules do not allow concurrent play unless it qualifies under one of their exceptions (ODP, college showcase, national league play). ECNL events would likely meet the requirements for an exception. But, this includes training. Other states allow concurrent play so girls in those states can do both. If you play at that level, where competition for places is intense, 4 months away from club training by playing HS will cost you at the club level.

Like Alex Bregman could have gotten better coaching/training in minor league baseball but wanted to play for the college he loved. Turned out ok for him.

The Developmental Academy (DA) is the only entity that forbid playing high school soccer because they felt it was a significantly lower level of play, and because the risk of injury was really high. The DA has since morphed into the Girls Academy which does allow players to play high school ball, same as ECNL. Many high level D1 prospects forego playing high school for the above reasons, but they miss out on all the camaraderie and memories. For those players, two years of high school is usually enough in my opinion, but obviously depends on which high school of course.

Trust me just because you don’t play HS doesn’t mean you miss out on camaraderie or memories. In many ways quite the opposite, playing in Super Y league, ECNL, or DA provides opportunities to make friends and play with teammates from beyond your city, state, region, country, and abroad creating many long lasting memories and friendships. Often your expenses and fees can be paid for if your willing to put in a little leg work to fill out applications to submit towards scholarships and/or financial aid...or just be a legit ⭐️
