Grace Spriggs - Dutchtown - NC State - Goalkeeper Plays for Alabama FC ECNL and doesn't play for her high school team So because she plays ECNL, she isn’t allowed to play for school? No, it’s her choice not playing for high school.

So because she plays ECNL, she isn’t allowed to play for school? No, it’s her choice not playing for high school. ECNL allows players to play high school soccer. DA generally does not. In the Northeast, mid Atlantic and the West Coast where most of the elite college players are recruited from there is a big debate about this. Many kids won’t play DA because they want to play HS soccer in front of their HS classmates.

It’s still DA under a different name. Look back at my post on DA last year. And it’s up to the Club to allow HS and most don’t. TX is a big state but look at where the best players come from per capita and it not TX.

Additionally, the top recruits come from Texas as well. Please educate yourself before communicating on this forum. Thx Only two players from the state of TX on the last 2 national championship teams and no college team from TX has ever won or runner up as far as I can tell.

3balz, better to admit when you are wrong than to continue to defend an error. Otherwise, we are all going to start doubting the veracity of your PR rankings, which up to this point has the weight of a lot of integrity. The Girls Academy does allow its players to play high school, and it’s not up to the individual clubs. It is not the same as DA which is now defunct. And Texas does crank out some of the highest ranked recruits in the country every year compared to the rest of the country. They often leave the state, which is why Texas teams don’t dominate the final four of college soccer.
As far as the Dutchtown goalie opting not to play high school and focusing on ECNL, that’s a personal decision and shouldn’t be judged. With an ACC scholarship in hand, you can’t really blame her. And from an SSA perspective, anything to prevent ski from gaining an advantage over the doves is a good thing. But since the goalie position is a relatively less injury prone position than a field player, I would say that completely missing high school ball will leave a lot of great memories on the table. There is very little professional future in women’s soccer, so players should soak in the good experiences as much as possible on the journey to the “top”. In my opinion.

In Youthsoccerrankings.com which ranks all formal games played, and uses the opponents ranking in the equation. So more complete then gotsoccer or Sinc U19 girls 4 of top 10 nationally ranked teams are from North Texas. Including #1 U18 girls 2 of top 10 are from North Texas. Including #1 U17 2 of top 10 are from North Texas (including #2) and 1 from south Texas are in the top 10.
Now that has to translate to talent and recruiting, yes??
3balz this ranking site was touted by you as the most accurate.

Seems to me it can be part of resume building. Could have added “helped team advance to the quarterfinals or beyond for the first time.”

Everyone’s experience is different so I understand and respect her decision. Driving to club practices, tournaments, and games would be a focus. Sometimes, not saying this is the case, but they choose not to play HS because of the coach. Same reasons for club sadly too. Great for Grace though! I’ll take more young men and women looking to extend their careers into college.
