I heard through the grapevine that a number of coaches submitted multiple ballots and others shared the link with other people who then voted. So, the admins had to weed those out. If that is true, it is absolutely shameful that people IN EDUCATION (faculty or non-faculty) would do this. Remember, ROLE MODELS. We are supposed to try to be ROLE MODELS. Vote early and vote often.

If this is true, it’s atrocious that the LHSAA would even allow it to happen. There has to be a system of checks and balances and the organization needs to require that EVERY coach submit 3-4 players from their team and the votes counted after all are submitted. Any coach found guilty of sharing ballots should automatically be barred from coaching again. This should be a fair an equitable list derived of the true best players in the state and it is unfortunately a joke.

This is the LHSCAA thing, they do not have the power to bar coaches, other then kicking them out of the coaches association. Hopefully it’s out today or tomorrow.

Limiting it to 4 from a school does make sense. There are many schools with absolutely no players worthy of consideration. It is what it is. If you think about a few of the schools that your daughter played against this year, do you really think that they had anyone that would even start for a top, top team?

Disappointed to see our DIII didn't even fill out the 22 available spaces. My school doesn't pay for my LHSAAC dues, but I will definitely be making the investment next year. Is it true that All-State Freshmen voting is now closed?

Is it true that All-State Freshmen voting is now closed? When I ran the booster club we would pay the $25 or $35 dues so that our coach could participate in these things, after all it is for the players. As far as number of players on the teams. Each player needs a certain amount of votes for second team. If a player doesn’t reach the needed votes they aren’t put on the team regardless of how many are on it On the all state freshman thread, the Shreve coach mentioned that the nominations were due yesterday, so the voting hasn’t happened yet, according to that.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I think we definitely need to help coaches (myself included) better understand the process and the importance of filling those spaces.

My school doesn't pay either, and I struggle to get familes to even show up to the games. Next year I'll be writing the check myself as I have a few strong options coming up.
