What a game! Did you watch it?
So many goods and bads with both teams. So many storylines. So many things to discuss.
Has the USAMNT turned the corner? What about those Mexican fans? Is the media finally learning what we all knew 20 years ago? How bout that Panamanian ref? What about those pk calls? VAR? What about CBS Sports announcers and post game discussions with Onweyu, Dempsey, and Davies?
This game was a classic. If you did not watch it, look it up in YouTube.

Back line was horrific, besides Dest and MAYBE Brooks. Front 3 (Sargent, Reyna, and Pulisic) and McKennie were solid, and will do good things for us for the next 2 WC cycles, in my opinion.
The refereeing was as expected in a game like that against a team like Mexico. While I hate VAR, it did swing the correct calls for us 2 separate times, on the offside goal for Mexico and for the PK. I did not agree with the VAR PK call for Mexico, but alas, "ball don't lie"...
Onyewu and Davies need to find something else to do with their time. They were bad.
Maurice Edu and the other commentator were bad as well. I much prefer Twellman and Ian Darke.

Maurice Edu and the other commentator were bad as well. I much prefer Twellman and Ian Darke. I am not so sure yet about Sargent. He seemed to be more involved than Pulisic, but missed some good chances by either falling down or not being able to get on top of the ball. McKennie was so dominant in the air. Gio Reyna looked really solid after being in the game awhile. Ream and McKenzie were butchered. Horvath may have taken over the top spot at keeper. Our GKs are lacking playing time with their clubs and so these games seem to be helping them out. The officiating calls seemed ok, except both pks were iffy and Mexico’s seemed like a make up call which to me was fair in all sorts of illogical crazy meanings. I hated how the red had no control at the end of regular time and then the anti discrimination pause seemed to work in Mexico’s favor as they were gassed by our up tempo play and were on their heels before the break. Like I said, so many things to talk about. So many goods and bad. The game was so dramatic and fun to watch as well as reflect on. I think we are seeing a change in CONCACAF and we will see the momentum swinging back USA’s way. We still have issues in attack getting goal production from our strikers and top forwards. Siebachu may be an answer. Weah, now cap tied to the USA, needs more production. Sargent needs to start scoring. And I am tired of hearing of Altidore as a solution. His career has been one whole disappointment during the big games.

In regards to this game it felt great to win even if it was meaningless trophy.
Tim Ream never needs to see the field for the USMNT again, we have to have better outside backs somewhere in this country. The other CB next to Brooks gave up that first goal in an awful way, but played pretty great the second half and in extra time so I was happy with how he rebounded.
We have a really solid core and I am excited for the future of this team. As much as I like Stefenn at Man City also, he needs to move clubs to get more game time.
Horvath stepped up with the save of his life as the commentator said, love that for him.
