I wanted to find out more about the schools with soccer programs that were in the direct path of Hurricane Ida. In the aftermath of Katrina, we saw many New Orleans schools either closed or delayed return. Of course there were more issues of flooding, but with IDA, the wind damage could have become catastrophic.
Here is a general list of schools with soccer programs that might have been heavily impacted by Ida. Perhaps we could get some info on their "wellbeing"?
South Terrebonne Terrebonne South Lafourche Central Lafourche ED White Thibodaux Vandebilt Catholic HL Bourgeois East St John Destrehan Hahnville AJ Ellender Lutcher Morgan City Covenant Christian Houma Christian Fisher Riverside Academy St Charles Catholic
Im sure i may be leaving some other schools out--metro New Orleans probably has a few that might be facing issues with power. Feel free to offer any info you have, and add any schools that have post Ida issues with reopening

Terrebonne High survived the storm very well. Our school district has already deemed our school ready to reopen subject to power. Based on what I have seen and heard, I would also expect all Houma and Lafourche programs to return.

South Lafourche stadium has some damage from what I heard, I haven’t been in front of it yet
South Terrebonne stadium lights have a good bit of damage. They share their stadium with Ellender.
Terrebonne and HL Bourgeois share the stadium and was mentioned above.
Vandebilt, Central Lafourche, Thibodaux, ED White, Houma Christian, and Morgan City all didn’t appear damaged from what I could tell.
Covenant Christian doesn’t have a home stadium and I’m not sure where they will be playing just yet.

I think ALOT will be impacted MORE by American football then the hurricane.

I really wasn't asking about stadium facilities as much as I was wondering about the communities that these schools all serve. Lafourche Parish was decimated by the storm. When these schools come back, home much of the community will be left to come back to them?

South Lafourche got annihilated and I’m not sure what their plans are
I haven’t heard of too many people actually packing up and moving out, and today there were messages in Lafourche Soccer group chat asking about games and practices.
I have seen/heard of some students enrolling in a school out of state and playing athletics for those schools. I’m not sure how that would affect their eligibility when they come back to Louisiana.

Doesn’t you are eligible minute you return. You can play football in Houston and come back and wrestle in NewOrleans

Updates were put out today for some schools. Terrebonne and HL Bourgeois sustained light damage and have power. South Terrebonne did not fare as well and will require extensive repair.
