We as coaches of soccer know we can move games and or add games during the season. We have plenty of time to do this. Yet LHSAA wants us to forfeit games if we can’t play them due to Covid. Especially if we have to wait the full 14 days even though the players can return to school 7-10 days. At the beginning of last season my first 3 games were moved due to school related Covid stuff not someone on the team testing positive for Covid. We have to stand up to this BS.

Just reschedule for a day when thunderstorms are expected. Then cancel due to weather. Problem solved.

It is easy enough for soccer to reschedule to a later date as long as we aren't in the last two weeks of the season. The problem is that football can't reschedule as they can only play one game a week and there are only ten weeks and some teams were using COVID as an excuse to eliminate games that would negatively affect their PR.
Just don't schedule a game with an *$*@# who would try to hold it against you just to get the points..........

I don't think the LHSAA is blatantly against moving games at all. I think the issue comes with moving of games to an already packed January, which is where it would probably fall. So, obviously we should try and reschedule as much as we can, but I'm not putting my girls at risk playing 3-4 days in a row to make up some games from November during crunch time of district. If your beef is with the forfeits? Then yea, I don't disagree with you there at all. I'm sure a lot of coaches would and SHOULD just take a no contest and move on. Forcing someone to forfeit due to things outside their control seem an extremely unfortunate way to solve the problems. I do think there should be proof submitted to the LHSAA about the positive tests and the necessity for forfeit. Last year we played 2-3 matches with 11 players due to half the team being quarantined. Thankfully, Shreve and Haughton were cool about us not playing in their tournaments due to large quarantines and I appreciate that a ton. Others were extremely helpful all season all over the state I know and that shows the generosity of the community at large.
