Real classy by the Woodlawn player who got the red. He knew they were going to lose so he decided to take a cheap shot when the game was over. Ref gave him a red after the game.

Great game last night. I can see why Woodlawn did as well as they did throughout the playoffs. Played very disciplined and have some very dangerous players.
Both teams were well disciplined. It was a cleanly played game. Even when Woodlawn became more physical in the second half to try and throw Magnet off their play. It was well within the play of the game.
I thought this game's refing was the better of all the weekend games. He did a very good job of allowing the game flow to go uninterrupted. The players seemed to respect him as well. The one play I need an explanation of is in the second half the restart after a double yellow. The ref came toward mid field then turned ran a few steps and set the ball down to start the play again. The closest either team had a player to the ball was 5 to 10 yards away. It was a face off situation but there was no set up.

When play is stopped for something like that, the restart is a dropped ball, where the ball was when play was stopped, because no one had clear possession. The ball is dropped between two opposing players. There is nothing that says that two players must be near the ball or referee in a "face off situation". It is found on the bottom of page 37 in the rule book. I thought it was very smart move by the referee to avoid injury to himself and any players.

Was the game stopped, with the ball in play, to administer the second caution? From what I can discern, it was, because a drop ball was administered. If this is the case, this is wrong. If the game was stopped to administer the caution the restart is an IFK for the other team from the point of the infraction. This is not stopping the game due to injury or any other unusual circumstance.

Number3,
From reading above you can imply that the game was stopped to administer a caution to a player from each team; therefore, I agree with cajunsoccerguy. Above it says a double yellow, which, in this case, was a yellow card for a player on each team.

The infraction happened in Woodlawns penalty box. Z. Kelly and another player were pushing each other. Ref stopped play after ball cleared the box. This looked confusing when it happened, but made sense.
I was looking away when Woodlawn scored. Was that goal off a free kick? It was a nice shot off the far post.

About the foul: The was a double yellow and the players left the field and Woodlawn assumed it was our kick, so we set up like a goalkick almost. We had all of our defense up near midfield waiting for the ref. He walked over to the ball, picked it up and while running called out that no one had possession and it was a drop ball. He dropped the ball on the run, which caught everyone off guard, and it was just a race to the ball. I would think that he would have to let us know what was going on and give us a little time to set up instead of an explanation while he is running down the field with the ball, then dropping it and blowing his whistle..

Okay, when I read double yellow, I assumed that it was a second yellow issued to the same player. Since both players on opposing teams were cautioned, a drop ball is correct.
My mistake on reading the scenario wrong, guys.

I have to say I was impressed with Caddo. Not having seen them play this year, they were as good as advertised. Very quick at every level and physical the entire contest. Two things made a big impression....
They appeared very confident. Don't confuse that with arrogant because I didn't see that at all. They played the entire match seemingly convinced that they would win. They never appeared content with the lead or worried when Woodlawn scored, and until the final seconds ticked off played the game right. Impressive to say the least.
Nick Flowers..Never met the kid, don't know if he's signed, recruited, or what. He was one of the most impressive players I watched this year. There may be faster, stronger, or more skilled guys out there (may not be ) but he is a pure leader. He did and said all the right things. He played a pivotal part in Caddo winning the game and I'm sure it was indicitive of the season. I enjoyed watching him play.
Congrats Caddo Magnet on a great game and season!
