good game bu magnet just straight up dominated Didn't see the second half, heard Magnet came out and dominated that half. My guess is their coach had some choice words for them at halftime. In my opinion, Byrd had the better of it in the first half. Good win by Magnet. Can't wait for Thursday.

I agree, Byrd outplayed Magnet in the first half. Magnet looked flat and tired. However, they did respond in the second half by putting a lot of pressure on the Byrd defense and creating multiple chances before finally getting the two goals they needed. Hopefully they can get some rest before Thursday, it should be fun to watch

jesuitjv, you might as well come out and reveal yourself since obviously you either are lying about your screen name because there's no possible way you could have seen the magnet- byrd game and say magnet dominated, and determine that paxton is good unless you're from shreveport-bossier... not exactly a close drive from the new orleans area.

Standings have been updated. Looks like Magnet is now squarely in the drivers seat for the district crown. Matches between Shreve, Magnet, and Byrd could not have been closer. Gators have to be dissapointed as both those matches were there for the taking but they just could not find a goal when they needed one. I'm sure the next round will be just as exciting.

Although the Parkway Tournament only had one Top-10 team on the boy’s side it did have almost all of the best teams in North La., and in tournament play strange things can happen and usually do. The fact that favored Caddo avoided the upset showed a lot of maturity for a relatively young team. The Ruston match could have been one of those games. Ruston came in big, physical, and fast, and despite being the lesser team technically it had Caddo down a goal after 10 minutes. Same thing happened in the Sulphur match in Lake Charles two weeks ago. They were much like this Ruston team, and like Ruston they put Caddo in the hole early. That time Caddo lost its composure and went on to take its first loss. But this past weekend Caddo maintained its composure and not only got that score back quickly but followed it with two more for the win. Another encouraging observation was how Caddo handled itself in the championship match against District 1 rival Airline. Airline came into that match sky high following its upset over Byrd and eager to do the same to Caddo, and for the first half gave Caddo its best competition of the tournament. (Caddo had numerous shots-on-goal during that period but with Airline’s keeper Kirkpatrick that doesn’t mean much). After putting everything they had into that first half and coming away with nothing, this could have been another opportunity for the team to lose its intensity in the second half. But instead they came out poised and even more determined, and within seven minutes put two quick scores on the board and went on to take the match and the tournament. Very encouraging stuff that should pay big dividends in the play-offs.
