I think i was right when I said this game would not come close to OT. And Magnet's keeper was not tested at all tonite it was a good header but it was right at him. Oh and it was the only shot by Shreve the whole night. Better team won congrats to Magnet

Looks like EJ found his "finishing shoes" at the right time of the season. The Magnet boys seem to be just where they need to be gearing up for the playoffs. Radi has them prepared tactically and psychologically.
Shreve's coach has been good at making adjustments with his team the last few years and I am sure he will make one to his defense before the next big match. Since switching to the 3-5-2 formation several years ago, this has been the first time that the Gators really don't have a sweeper with the instincts for the position and the two outside defenders were just overwhelmed last night. They spent most of the second half kicking balls out of bounds instead of starting counter attacks.
It was good to see Jeremy Wimer, Jason Beck and Scott Mitchell in the stands last night; each youth home on break from college and coming out to catch another episode in this storied rivalry.

I agree with Savonarola. Michiels is an excellent soccer player, but he doesn't really fit into that sweeper mold. He isn't a vocal person, which doesn't work for sweepers. I think he is better suited somewhere else on the field, but I think he is there out of necessity. Maybe coach does some tweaking.
Congrats to Magnet. As much as hate to say it, you guys are better this year. Is 06-07 the year the talent level switches back to magnet for a stretch of time. Shreve has had the edge for the last 6 years whereas Magnet had it prior. We can say that Shreve is the republicans and Magnet is the Dems. Power changes from time to time.
