I think Vandy takes this one. I watched Pineville play Tara and I must say, they play a lot of kickball, and they don't have but one or two real dribblers on their team. I think Vandebilt will run over these guys. Especially with them being hot headed after beating a good Tara side.
Vandebilt 2/3 - 1/0 Pineville

While I do agree that $7.00 is alot of money for students, when we went to McKinley they charged the same price.

This game could easily go either way, especially since it is being played at Pineville. Whoever relies on the passing game the most, even if they are really good at it, should lose this game. The field is more of a disadvantage to the better possession team. That is enough for me to give Pinevill the edge. I say Pineville 1-0.

... no offense intended but did you look at the Vandebilt season games... Their record is nowhere reflective of the quality of the team! They had the strongest schedule in DII, playing almost ALL the power houses in the state (STM, Teurlings, Rummel, Brother Martin, Catholic BR, Jesuit, etc.)... why? TO GET READY for the playoffs!! Vandy is a smart enough team to find weakness in their opponent and exploit it... regardless field condition! I would be surprised if Vandy loses this one!

as long as Vandy doesn't try to play the offside trap they should win regardless of the field conditions and even if rains they should still win because pineville plays alot of balls over the top, and the ball will mostly stop in the middle of nowhere.

Vandy likes to move the ball around. They are a possesion team. They will score. Pineville thrives on the counter. They have size and speed. Tara's D is not bad, but they were no match for Pineville's size. The field is small and that will play to Pineville's advantage. It's hard to pass on a field that has been chopped up pretty good and Pineville's is like most fields around the state, pretty chopped up. They got up on Tara early, played it smart by extra manning on Parker and packed the defense in. You have to give them credit. They used their size to their advantage offensively, shut down Tara's midfield which in essence shut down Tara's lone striker attack. For Parker to have 47 goals in a season playing in a 4-5-1 formation as a lone striker is phenomenal especially when he is actually a midfielder on his premier team. Vandy should win, but anything can happen.

[/img] Pineville beat DeRidder IN DERIDDER this season. Pineville was pumped. They played hard. Guys outhustled DeRidder's slow-footed players. So I can imagine a possible scenario in which Vandebilt is shocked into mediocrity by Pineville's 100% hustle and expressive emotions...and Pineville win 2-1. But this being the march to the state championship, I suspect Vandebilt will play from first second to WIN and defeat Pineville 3-0 or 3-1. I dont know wat game you were at but deridder isnt slow footed by any means, they depend alot on their speed. and the reason they out hunstled deridder is because deridder had just beaten them 6 to 1 and underestimated them.

why are there so many excuses for losing? a loss is a loss, if u lose in the playoffs ur done. theres no second chance or reason for excuses.
now back to the game, vandy is going to be surprised once they get to the field. yea, most teams' fields are chopped up, but this is how pineville loves to play. their field is pretty much in a valley and all the water rolls down to the field. pineville looked like playing kickball against Tara because thats what u have to do to win. the field is in no shape to be passed around. vandy can win for sure, but better be ready for a pumped pineville team.

and tsumi, sorry to say it but records dont really matter in the playoffs. if ur in the quarterfinals u have a pretty dang good team and anything can happen. we came in second in district and our first place team already got knocked out and were still in. it all depends on who wants it more at this point

After watchn Vandy play I have seen some of their players play and their midfield is really good they got some #21 guy and #10 guy who move the ball around like crazy with their good touch. It will be interesting to see how those two play together in poor conditions.

Yah. You must not have. lol. I played on it after it rained one time. It was literally the worst field conditions I have ever played on in my life. If you have ever seen a pile of dirt after the rain, then you have seen Pineville's field after the rain... Seriously.

This is an easy question. I have played on both after the rain. Pineville's is all around worse. The only thing about Leesville's that is worse after the rain is the sideline that is closer to the bleachers.

I think Vandy is going to pull this one off. they are not the team they have been in the passed but they still have the ability to win state...good luck to both teams tho...pineville better come out ready to play which they probably will.........

You can rest assured that Vandy's coach has explained to the guys about the terrible pitch conditions. He will also ensure that their heads are in the game. I do not think that Vandy is taking anyone lightly at this stage of the playoffs.
