U-High had no organization up top resulting in 1 shot on goal the entire game that was from a set piece about 40 yards out which wasn't intended as a shot. St. Louis had two very nice goals in the first half.........Ryan Duhon slammed one in from the corner of the 18 to the far post upper 90. Second goal came off of a nice build up and cross to a St. Louis player directly in front of the goal to put it away. Not quite sure who scored the goal. U-High did have one solid chance with about 4 minutes left in the first half but the player could not make a clean hit on the crossed ball which resulted in a shot that wasn't on goal. The second half looked pretty sloppy for the most part with St. Louis lowering their level of play to the kick ball style of U-High. Although at times St. Louis put a few plays together in the second half, they mostly just cleared it out of the defensive third instead of trying to make a thought out decision and finding an open man. U-High would return with the same style of play when they received the cleared ball from St. Louis. It seemed as if U-High is missing a couple quality players in the midfield and up top to put something together. U-High seemed to try and send it up to one guy who had 3 defenders surrounding him, nowhere to go and didn't have the support players around him to string together some passes so he was forced to try and take it himself which was completely unsuccessful. Decent game for St. Louis but their best was not needed tonight to pull out a win.

university did not have the best chance of beating STL. deridder beat university 6-0 in the showcase and menard beat deridder this year. the st. martins/menard winner will give STL a better game than everyone thinks

Something like 19-9-2, not exactly sure.

Something like 19-9-2, not exactly sure. Seven losses are to non-Louisiana teams. Their losses to LA teams are 0-1 vs. Jesuit and 2-3 vs. Teurlings.

They are all bad teams. Just face it. I wouldn't call ANY teams which made the quarterfinal BAD. Everything is relative.

u-high did not adjust , Id say u-high won 10-15 of 50/50 balls. Long ball only goes so far. U-high couldnot possess the ball ,even from their own throw ins and goal kicks

I guess if you compare these teams to the rest of Division III, then yeah you could consider them good. I'm saying in general, Division III has maybe 4 or 5 good teams. For the playoffs, there is 1 good team on the bottom, and 4 good teams on the top half.

I think the only out of state game St. Louis won was against Kelly. They lost every game (6), in the two Texas tournaments that they went to.

i agree with bish, st. louis is the only good team on the bottom thats just the way it worked out... i was totally unimpressed with University last night. but it sounds like STA has a squad the top of the bracket better watch out for.

St Louis had a lot of growing pains early in the season. The coach had 6 players plus the bench who had seen very little or no varsity time until this year. Some have worked out and some are needing a little more work. The deal is St Louis has the right players in the right positions and all the players know their role on the team. They are peaking at the right time.

This year will be the tough one though, at least in the finals. When I watch them play, I see a lot of talent, but most of the time they are trying to do too much. If they'd just keep it simple, keep the ball on the ground, and pass it to the nearest open teammate, you'd see a lot more goals a lot faster. Whenever they do score, it's usually because that's what they did.
