Because defense wins games, and offense wins championships ;D

Somebody this season made 1st team all state, but only made 2nd team all district in DII. If your team plays a lot of teams in your division in non district games, and has good games, these voting coaches will remember him and vote him. They don't know whether he made all district 1st or 2nd team, nor does it matter to them. That is one reason why you should schedule as many teams as possible inside your own division.
This kid played in the Bolton Tourney and therefore had a few teams in DIII not from his district that see him play well. That is just one example of why he may have garnered a few more votes than just his district coaches. PLUS he is a good player from an outrageously talented district. Look at first team All State...lots of members from his district. Congrats to all who made the team!
My question is how did Joe Diesi not make first team???

This type of things happen every year. It happened last year when a Teurlings player was HM and made All State 1st team. It goes back to who sees you play and when.
In all district selections it is not just about who the best players are and everyone knows that. Some times a player is pushed down to 2nd team in order for another team to have a spot on the 1st team, etc. etc. etc.
Become a coach and watch the fun. Then vote." it ain't that easy"
By the way, I agree that Joe Diesi could have been a 1st teamer but don't know who I would take off. Lots of great players and just a few spots. I will say this, this team really represents a large number of schools and I think that is on the right track.
Congrats to all.

not necessarily beauchenecoach, the leading goal scorer from Bolton's tournament isn't all-state. if the coaches that voted watched the games and based their votes on that tournament, they did BAD at voting. but i do see were you're coming from, Bolton has had an all-state player both years that they've held their tournament.
Congratulations Bruce! Bout time you got some recognition
