There is a certain lesson to be learned from all of this stafalconshow and others. Win with class and lose with class. You never heard vandy, st louis, or jesuit on here complaining about amount of all staters, why? because they have been there and done that and they know the only important thing is the ring. i understand you would have liked for your friends to make it, but if you are trying to say these players who made the team are not deserving of the honor your crazy. It does suck that the list is limited to a certain amount of players and for that im sure everyone is sorry. but its over now, those all state players would all trade there little all state trophy for what you have, that ring.

The "veritas/truth" of all of this, is exactly this: We at STA know the ultimate goal is to play as a team and that a team wins a title, not individuals. But there is nothing wrong with the thought that after the ultimate goal is reached by a team, that there should be some recognition to the individual players that made it happen. All of the other high school sports seem to be able to get it right in selecting an all state team. How many running backs rush for 40 yards a game and make all-state? How many 15 flat 100 yard dashers make all state? How many guys that bat their weight in baseball make all state? The only point I am making is that there is an obvious flaw in the system in the way players are chosen to be on the all-state squad and the system ought to be fixed. This is not rocket science, so step up to the plate coaches and get us a system that works as well as the other sports.
And I will now deliver the "veritas/truth" to the "whiners" that said we should not "whine" about St. L. or that their is "no 3 better players" than the three from St. L.--think about this next year when we are at college--imagine yourself in a conversation with someone that is not from ST. Lou.
Non ST. Lou person: "Hey man, did you play soccer in high school?" ST. Lou person: "Oh yeah, I was on a great team, we had the MVP, three guys to make first team all-state and two on the second team." Non ST. Lou person: "Man, you guys must have been awesome, did you win state?" ST. Lou person: "No we didn't." Non St. Lou person: "How bad did you get beat in the finals?" ST. Lou person: "Well, we didn't make the finals." Non St. Lou person: "With all that talent and you guys did not make it, the rest of the team must have been awful." ST. Lou person: "Oh no, they were good players also, we just didn' t make it." Non ST. Lou person: "Well if that is the case, then there must have been some all state players that were a lot better than your all state players." ST. Lou person: "Well Newman had 4 on the first team and one on the second team." Non ST. Lou person: "So they won state?" ST. Lou person: "No, they didn't win it either." Non ST. Lou person: "So who in the heck won state?" ST. Lou person: "STA won STAte." Non ST. Lou person: "How many did they have on the all state team?" ST. Lou person: "One on the first team and two on the second team." Non ST. Lou person: "I don't know a lot about soccer, but something tells me that there was a big mistake in deciding who should have been on the all state teams."

Your logic is dumb, nobdoy even cares about all-state after they graduate. When someones asks a STL person if they played high school soccer they wouldnt talk about their individual awards, they would be like "well we outplayed the team that beat us but soccer goes like that sometimes, but the two years before that we won state so its not too bad." I think STA should have got more people on first team, but its not that big of a deal. Good year, dont look at the negatives of not getting all-state players.

wow that is by far the stupidest thing i have ever seen. haha i would have to say a convo between me and another guy who asks how that game went with newman would be more like howd yall lose and id say well we hit post three times had an offsides goal that we all thought was on ( i scored it and saw a defender ahead of me but in refs defense it was a hard call it happen quick) missed some close shots and they just put the ball away in the few shots they had and that it was one of those games. maybe sta shouldve had more players idk i havent seen them enough to know but still the convo is unneeded

how am i the dumb ignorant kid. you dont have to go off due to your jealousy that you suck compared to him. he probably doubled your goal amount and he was good at free kicks but he didnt have 40 plus goals because of them you retard.

STA8, that's ridiculous to say that Lapira is only good at free kicks. He is one of the most skilled players in all of Louisiana.

OK sta8 and dewey(and anyone else doing this) quit acting so immature and emotional please. Both of you have some good points, but are the insults and bad-mouthing really necessary??? Come on guys you're in high school now, act like it.

So just chill out. -I think Michael deserved MVP but I also think you could easily make an argument for other players too.

Who ever "the veritas" is, I think that is hilarious. With that being said, everyone on here from STA complaining about lack of All State representation, I bet your coach only nominated 3 players. I have known your coach for a long time, and he is a purist. He really considers awards as a true honor. He is definitely not one of these coaches that plays the numbers game by putting up 5 or 6 or more to get all of the attention. And to top it off STA, you are the only team that does not have to make excuses on here about hitting the post, out shooting or out playing your opponent, because you guys beat every DIII opponent you faced this year. No other DIII team can say that, regardless of strength of schedule, what your momma, daddy or friend thinks, or another coach for that matter. Know that you were the best in the state this year in DIII and move on. You will learn in life, a solid winning team is much stronger than the best individuals. Awards or no awards.
Congrats to all of the All State Recipients.

I am certainly not here to defend STA, because they need none, and your statement is obviously a fact, but STA would have faced St Louis, had they been able to get by Newman. I believe STA not only defeated Newman twice this year, but with two shut outs, while I believe your team gave up 3 goals in only one match.
