Thierry Henry, Zidane is getting older now and I think Henry and Djibril Cisse are starting to take over the national team from an attacking standpoint. He is truly the most valuable to his club, a year or two ago i would've said Zidane but Henry has just turned into such an incredible player. Runs Arsenal's offense, Arsenal would be decent without Thierry but I don't think their offensive production would never have been so prolific, but with the emergence of Jose Reyes, I wonder how much of an impact it would leave on Arsenal if he wasn't there.

I am a huge Real fan and have been since 97.....but as far as a player making the biggest impact, I think Seedorf for AC Milan.....he seems to be the missing piece they needed.....he was real good a few years back, then fell out of the limelight, and now AC are 20-4-1 in Serie A, are in first place, and are the reigning European Champions.......second most valuable for an attcking standpoint on AC is Shevchenko.

Posts like this are interesting, but it's kind of null/ void. Certain players are only great in certain systems, with of course the rare exception. When Thierry Henry was at Juventus, he couldn't do anything. Granted, he was played out on the wing, but it wasn't until he went to Arsenal where he found his true greatness. Same goes for Christian Vieri. He bounced around (at one point, Juve), before finally settling in with Inter.
That said, I voted for Zidane. More than anything, I just want to get to twenty posts so I can get the damned starter thing away from my name.

i think they best player nwo is zidane old or not. he's got experience and is just breath taking. but an up and coming player is ronaldihno he's jsut amazing to watch.
also, the french teams two fowards are trezequet and henry. cisse doesnt play much. beleive me i know the french news. as for cisse he wont stay in auxerre much longer he'll probably go to england soon. his break through is soon to come.
but you need to look at the 80's and 90's for awesome players...like the young ronaldo...younger zidane the de boers even the laudrup brothers. even roberto carlos in the '98 world cup. they pull off some amazing things.

Djibril has commited to Liverpool. I really don't think that you look to the 80's or 90's for some amazing tricks, sure Zidane is technically brilliant but Ronaldinho and the likes have so many more tricks and feints that are so amazing. I don't really follow French national team soccer, I was just going on the Gold Cup this summer, plus Trezeguet's getting kinda old too, of course Cisse won't be playing at Euro 2004, due to his 4 match ban. I can't agree that Zidane is still the best, there are other players to look at, i guess it's just something that's been accepted for the past 2 or 3 years and people can't just move on, are you sure that Djibril doesn't get much playing time, cuz from what I hear and see on FSW I'm pretty sure he does.
