USA will want revenge for their loss at the 2002 WC.
USA will roll.

At Last! We will be playing our European players. I'll be expecting a big game from DaMarcus, but thats always true.

Exactly. I wish I could watch this game, because I am desperate to see the new mix of players.

Solid win for team USA. Eventhough it was not their best performamce, anytime you beat a european team in europe, it is a good thing.
Team USA looked shaky in the first half, but took control as the game went along.
The new ESPN announcer was freaking out about the snow. It is obvious he has never watched european football by the way he was going on about the snow.

the ESPN announcers are garbage, mostly because all they do is butter up the US National Team and talk about pointless facts like the average height of a team, as if it has anything to do with how they play. Better get the EPL announcers on there quick, I hate watching soccer on ESPN because they don't have good announcers, if it weren't for the brilliant chants of European soccer, I'd put the games on mute

Not impressed with the win. If they play like this they have no chance in the group.

I'm not really a fan of the FSC announcers: Christian Miles and Max Bretos either.

i don't like the FSC staff either, but the actual British guys who do the commentary for the EPL games, they're Skysports staff I THINK, but I know they aren't FSC because when i was in england it was the same people. they're top quality. and if you get a chance, fanzone comes on late and those guys are hilarious

I hear this all over. English people griping about european announcers. Everyone griping about USA announcers. To me it really makes not difference as I have not seen or heard one announcer that made me watch a game for the commentary.

I don't think people watch games for the commentary, but I start to get aggravated no matter how good the game is when the announcer is just rambling on about nonsense. ESPN announcers butter up the American team? I never hear that happen. They are usually going on about the opponent and act like USA has no chance. That's how I see it most of the time at least.

beckhamismyidol i know what your talkin about. in england we have this fanzone thing were say liverpool vs everton. big rivalries cause there both in liverpool and you have 2 comentators. ones a fan for everton and ones a fan for liverpool and they go at it. there normal fans so there shoutin down the microphones like SCORE IT CIISE. and its just more exciting i think

plus if you have bad comentary then it makes the game a tad bit boring. i like a good energetic commentator. makes it more fun and intence to watch

I know citizens of socialist countries have a hard time believing this, but you have a choice of whether you want to hear the announcer or not. It is called a volume knob. Turn it all the way to the left and you will be amazed at how the poor announcing goes away.
As for the fanzone thing, we are well aware of it here in the states as they play it on the fox soccer channel.

woah now, I'm no fan of socialists, being a Republican and all, but the one thing I hate more than bad commentary is none at all. If you turn down the volume on the commentating you can't hear the fans. Where's the fun in that?

I hear ya. For far too long, I would watch games in spanish, and sometimes still do, and even though I can only understand about 10% of what they are saying, I still keep the volume up.
But then again, the announcing in a language I do not understand is not aversive to me.
I just hate this topic of bashing announcers. I hear it way too much, and no one is ever satisfied with it.
