;DThe jamboree was close. West Monroe and St. Freds tied. West Monroe and Crowville tied and West Monroe dominated. Crowville and St. Freds tied and Crowville dominated. OCS lost to Ouichita. Looks like it will be a battle to see who will go to playoffs. ST. Freds, Crowville, Loyola, or OCS. What do you all think?

Jamborees don't really say much....what does a 20 min game matter; that is 70 minutes taken out of a game where anything could happen

So in a sense, jamborees can tell alot about the teams.

The 4-0 loss was to Parkway this past week. In the jamboree, Loyola was outplayed by both Captain Shreve and Airline. They lost 1-0 to Shreve and tied Airline 1-1.

CoPlREF...LCP was hardly outplayed .... Shreve is probably the best team in the city right now and they had a lucky goal. Loyola's keeper did really well in the shreve game getting a tripple save with 2 shots from about the 6, but did let in a pretty easy shot in the airline game that he should have saved. Overall he is looking pretty good and if he can get a few things down, will be one of the better ones in the city.

And by the way, LCP's keeper saved a good PK in the parkway game and was the one that kept them from loosing even more; Williams scored all 4 goals and it was the simple fact that LCP didn't have their marking down yet; that is what scrimmages are for(and the parkway was a full 2 45 min half scrimmage) someone would have to be pretty bad to loose 4-0 in 20 mins

to wondering, here is not partial view of the game. I was the ref for all of the games. Lets start with OCS and Ouachita, Ocs, good midfieled and pretty good fowards, defense is shakey at best, really depends on who they move into those positions. Ouachita, can we say speed, and lots of it I believe they recurited some starting football players, or atleast thats what I was told, I think they had willhitte there very good reciever, and some other black kids that were fast . their defense is average at best. St.Freds, well denfense is shaky and goal keeper is shaky also, likes to bobble the ball alot. doesn't have the best of hands, but has good angles though, midfield pretty good, fowards not that fast but descently skilled. Crowville, defense is weak in fact the weakest of all the teams I saw. and they are not skilled at all in the back, and disorganized also. midfield, athletic is the word for it , they hustle , foward well really on guy is good up front the other guy is just fast with out great skill, but number 9 was pretty good, WM well strong defense, average midfield, shaky goal keeper average at best fowards, but a good little red head kid that can play. of all the goal keepers WM was the worst. with out a doubt, he was all over the place, bobbling balls, and being out of position. OCS goal keeper was pretty strong, but just didn't have much help at times which put alot of pressure on him, umm, ST. fred keeper got alot of pressure, and made some saves but also was out of position some, but he played good. Crowville keeper, agressive, that pretty much decribes him. Hope that helps you wondering

In all fairness, I say that crowville, wm, and SF have the best chances to go to the playoffs. I just don't think ocs and ouachita have the caliber teams to go full strength with them. I woul have liked to have seen those games played all the way through. Looking at the other message boards it is easy to see that some teams talked alot of smack and couldn't back it up. I was surprised at WM. They were better than I thought they were going to be.

To CHS, if you noticed I didn;t bas your school I gave an honest assessment. also if you read I did say good things about crowville, but lets face it your defense was the worst on of the teams out there, the reason why you didn't get scored on is because none of the teams had a guy the could finnish once he shot. secondly, I was right there on the field with your guys and I could hear and see how disorganized they were, they kept marking each others players and not marking the apporiate foward or midfielder. Secondly I have played at not only the club, high school, and college level I have played some pro too, I knew quite abit about soccer, and it my honest opionion of the teams your defense was the weakest, your guy didn't even clear the ball all that well, and when the did get pressure they jumped in alot. Just WM and St. Freds really don't have good finnishers , or not yet atleast. After seeing all the teams play, I would say any one of them can make the playoffs, hard to say which teams will preform better during district play and which not. I will say this all of those teams are simular in alot of respects and the games will be close. Oh and one more note, the OCS coach, said that he didn't start the players in defense that he wanted to . all 3 are ineligible right at this moment because they moved from out of state to ocs, that what he said, whether that is true or not I have no idea.

OH and CHS one more thing, I don't have to hate on anybody, I have nothing to hate about, there is no player on your team that could even hold a candle to the type of competetion that I have faced or the level that i have played against.. sorry to tell you but if I was playing and I am not I could have a field day with your team,

West Monroe's goalie is weak, only a sophmore, and usually a defender or midfielder. Our real goalie is still with the football team. we also have three other starters on the football team. At the jamboree there were two freshmen, several sophmores and the rest are seniors. Not bad for a team missing several key players. I was at the game also and thought that Crowville and St. Freds played well. The 20 minute halves made it hard to judge each team. Our games against Crowville, St. Freds were far better than our game against Southwood

mr. Ref., i am one of the crowville mid-fielders, center-mid to be exact. I thought we were out of shape. I was not satisfied with our running. To hear you say that we were running good is really a compliment and i hope that when we make it to where i can say we are in shape, you will be all the more pleased. ;D My uncle played pro also, and i've kicked around with him before. I know the kind of competition you are talking about. Yet, it is hard to function like a college level/pro level team when most of your team is beginners. Don't say you could have a field day with all of us. Our team hasn't learned to make good runs off the ball yet. When we learn that, some skills will shine.

TO the crowvilled midfielder, I would say that there is alot of hustle in your group and the seem to work hard, but your defense needs alot of work, of course all the teams I was a ref for needed some work, get your defense straight and you should be pretty good to go, if not you will have problems. You are correct, that it is hard to function like that, and most high school players don't fully understand the concepts of space and runs, I can tell you this, a player with less skill , but with the ability to see the field and understand space will always get open over a player who is more skilled trying to beat players one one on one. By the way I was the young guy who was the ref on your defensive side of the field.

They play soccer in North Louisiana? Most South Louisiana's J.V.'s would be better competition. Be happy you all are good at football, less than 9 months to go.
