Using last years final poll, the 2003 state playoffs, and knowledge of the upcoming season, I put together these preseason rankings. Tell me what you'd change, or what should be different.
In front of each name, last years rank is in parenthesis. After each name, the district number, 2003 district standing, and 2003 playoff results are in parenthesis.
1. (2)Sacred Heart- New Orleans (district 8-2nd, champion vs. Newman) 2. (1)Newman (district 8-1st, runner-up vs. Sacred Heart-NO) 3. (5)Parkview (district 4-1st, quarterfinalist vs. Newman) 4. (7)Episcopal-Baton Rouge (district 5-1st, quarterfinalist vs. Loyola) 5. (6)St. Louis Catholic (district 3-1st, first round vs. Sacred Heart-NO) 6. (9)Episcopal-Acadiana (district 3-2nd, semifinalist vs. Newman) 7. (8)University (district 5-2nd, first round vs. Newman) 8. (-)St. Fredericks (district 1-2nd, quarterfinalist vs. Episcopal-Acadiana) 9. (-)Opelousas Catholic (district 2-1st, first round vs. Episcopal-Acadiana) 10. (-)St. Thomas Aquinas (district 6-1st, first round vs. St. Fredericks)

Wow, thank you so much. I didn't know about all the changes that took place during the off season. You don't make too many mistakes Caddo so we'll give you a break on this one. I'll be able to keep you up to date with Redemptorist as I'm the Laprepsoccer team representative. I assume Griffan is the same for Dutchtown.

thoughts on top ten-not to far from caddo 1)newman-select n.o. players rule,2)country day -ditto,3)st louis-underrated,prior yr 26-3,dominate fwds,4)episocal-a guess off of prior yr playoff records,5)esa(#10 is key player with rest of team hard to ball6)st fredericks(competive because of prior yr play with loyola)7)chsni(beat parkview baptist at opel jamb 2-1, 8)parkview baptist(when johnson comes to team after cross country team will rank higher) 9)opel cath-peaks at season end 0-6 against acadiana vs. esa loss to acadiana of 1-3 10)terlings- does not look like a first year team ash n.o. has moved up anyone have last week o.c. vs. esa score

OC lost to ESA 3-0. It was a tough game, OC was without 4 starters due to flu and starting foward thru out knee 3 minutes into game. ESA has a good team, give them credit, but their coach said they had limited practices. I heard ESA lost to Acadiana High 3-0 the tuesday night before the game. I dont think its a fair assessment of either team this early. OC was in football playoffs and many of their practices were cancelled also because the girls are cheerleaders, dancers, and pep squad. They only had one senior graduate from last years team, so they may surprise some people once they get well.

For the esa v. Acadina and esa v. OC your right esa had not practiced at all because of volleyball and crouse country. For the Acadiana game they had 4 starters come in from the meet right after to play. Esa's latest game was against Menard. They beat them 8-0 with only one practice under there belt and missing 1 varsity starter and 2 more varsity players. Dont under estimate them.
