In district one play tonight, Caddo Magnet (ranked fourth in division one) met Natchitoches Central. Natchitoches Central came into the game with a big win over Captain Shreve, the win coming at the end of a penalty shootout. Although a win last week, Natchitoches Central met district favorites, Caddo Magnet. Magnet dominated possession in the first half, scoring four goals from Palczynski, Bussart, Walsh, and Rew. Natchitoches Central's one chance game in the 34th minute, when it looked like one player had a breakaway. This defensive falter was quickly tended too, and the breakaway was foiled. Five goals in the second half from Palczynski(2), Rew, Vaughan, and Williamson secured a Magnet victory, and put them at 2-0 for the season. Caddo dominated most of the game, with Natchitoches making some runs. Natchitoches Central has improved a lot, in all areas, in the past year and could potentially make it to the playoffs. Caddo Magnet looks to play Huntington next week, and will be in the Louisiana Showcase of Soccer Tournament next weekend. Natchitoches Central, with a 1-1 district record, will play a tough game with Byrd next Tuesday.
