I'm not surprised by the Lafayette win, but I am a little surprised by the amount of goals. Lafayette is a great team with an explosive offense charged by Sellers and and solid back line headed by Gamble. This was Lafayettes first real district "test" of the season, already having a 4-0 record, with realtively easy district wins over Comeaux, Barbe, and New Iberia. Sulphur had a nice start to the season while at the Pineville Rebel Cup, with a finals loss, 1-0, to fellow district member Carencro. Although tallying wins over Opelousas Catholic, Opelousas High, Neville, and St. Frederick, the Lady Tors were unable to produce in big games against Acadiana and St. Louis. District three's district champion should be decided in the two games between Lafayette and Acadiana, but the third place will be a toss of between Carencro and Sulphur. Both teams have lots of room to develop, but are not completely out of the playoff picture.
