Okay, time for me to put my 10 cents worth.....
Catholic of Pointe Coupee has a very good center back, Shelbi Moeller, and she's an 8th grader.....maybe I should have waited until next year to put in this post!

Brunet keeps that right back side locked down tight. Allows sweeper to concentrate on the rest of the back. Pity anyone trying to go down their own leftside.

Two freshmen to keep an eye on in SW LA are:
Natalie Ieyoub- St Louis- has played 5 or 6 positions this season and is dominate in all. Great ball skills and I have yet to see an opposing player score on her side when she is playing defense.
Courtney Duplechin-Barbe-playing marking back off the bench and raw speed is allowing her to defend players bigger and faster. Getting playing time behind upperclassmen players and Barbe defense does not lose a beat when she comes in.
Both players will be dominate in their positions for the next 3 years.

I wanted to wait till the season concluded before I nominated a player. Several people have already mentioned Jessica Frentress # 14 who plays left defender for Woodlawn. There may be other freshman with more skills and better knowledge of the game but none with more toughness and for lack of a better word, more guts. This gritty little player will take on all comers and backs down from no one. There are few bigger fears in District 4 than SJA's Laura Neumann coming at you with a full head of steam......I witnessed Frentress despite being half her size go head to head with her and take her down with a tackle in front of the Woodlawn goal denying a score in the teams first meeting.I thought she had been run over and most likely knocked unconscious but she jumped to her feet ,brushed herself off as if to say ,"no big deal." I think it was Pompey who said she was as tough as nails and I agree. Certainly a Freshman to watch.

Terrebonne's Jessica Herradon must be listed in the all freshman group this year. She not only has 32 goals and 19 assist but plays the game with a passion that leaves you begging for more. She plays from whistle to whistle at 110% and has no fear. Playing in a rotation up top with two great juniors (Champagne and Fanguy) has helped her tremendously this year but this girl will leave her mark on Terrebonne soccer.
Defender Brittni Crone from Terrebonne has also made a name for herself this year. She has the physical size, speed and "no fear" attitude to become a big time player. Plays hard and has that "nobody goes" determination all great defender needs.

I agree with sosoplayer24, Jessica Herradon and Brittni Crone from Terrebonne have been vital assets for their team. He did forget to add Ana Contreras. Also there are a few girls on the bench for Terrebonne who have made an impact for their great season.
Actually, Terrebonne has a solid crop of freshmen on their team that should help them bring in a state championsihp or two (maybe 3 or 4?) by the time they are seniors. Terrebonne has actually followed Vandebilt's cue and has added a JV system to their program.
Granted, there are also some teams in the Bayou region who have a large group of Freshmen and sophomores. I really think that in the years to come that the Bayou Region will have a strong district.

St Charles Catholic's freshman #5 Reyna Lubin. She was the high scorer on the team.
