How can St. Louis scrimmage Barbe on the 8th. They had 2 varsity scrimmages this weekend against Acadiana and Beau Chene. I believe 2 is your limit.

Vandebilt 6 - HL Bourgeois 0 Played tonight at HLB
Thursday Vandebilt plays Terrebonne at 5:00 at THS
This should be a good one for at least the first half. I assume the coaches will play this one down and empty the benches pretty quick. No need to risk injury in a scrimmage. Neither team has much to gain with a win and a lot to loose with injuries. There are several club ball teammates on both teams. Should be entertaining for a little while.
The varsity boys play at 7:00 and should be a good one too. T-Bonne is young and fast but Vandy is....well they're just Vandy. I take it back. Go to the girls game if you want to see a good game.

Scrimmage Tues 11/7: Chapelle 2, Ben Franklin 1
Ben Franklin missing 4 starters (3 due to volleyball, 1 injured), but still a very competitive match. Winning goal was a PK by Chapelle's sr. midfielder Nazily Alcoser, who looked very much like an All-State candidate last night.

St. Jospeh's 1/St. Michael 0 last night on a wet and sloppy field @ Burbank 5. 0-0 @ HT. Maggie Eggers scores for SJA 5 mins into the 2nd half on a beautiful feed from Alex Zimmerman. SJA plays entire roster. Looked sluggish in 1st half, but it was the first scrimmage -- plus several recent practices got wiped out by rain. SJA controlled play throughout, but STM has some outstanding players -- one especially skilled and fast forward. Roster depth showed. A good first scrimmage for SJA. STM will make some noise this year.

Woodlawn v. Redemptorist 1-0 Neither team generated much offense in the first half (30 minute halves with no Refs) Woodlawn had a few chances in the first half but nothing came of them. Second half playing short (due to muscle cramping) WHS score to go ahead 1-0 in the 33rd minute (3 minutes into 2nd half). RHS had a chance later in the half with a break in on goal but GK smothered it. WHS missed a couple of opportunities to extend their lead but failed, partly due to strong defending which caused WHS to shoot from some bad angles. #4 (I think that was her number) - Sweeper - will make life difficult for opposing forwards in district this season. Should get some end of season recognition.

Sounds like a close game. Any more scope? We need details!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone expected more scoring. The ball stayed bogged down on Central's Attacking half, they just seemed to have problems putting the ball in the back of the net... The score came off a cross that was knocked in by the defense, an own goal.

They are going to have to work on that to compete in the district this year especially against Terrebonne. I assume the defense was solid but they are going to have to score.
I can't find a posted non-district schedule for Central. Any help would be appreciated.

First test of the season for the Barbe Girls and I predicted a few weeks ago....
10/24/06 at 10:33, barbedad20 wrote:Early match up in 2 weeks... Barbe vs St Louis Wed Nov 8th at Barbe 7 pm. Always a great game because each team is made up from girls that play on the same select team. My early prediction 2-1 Barbe.
Tonights match up had a playoff atmosphere with a standing room only crowd at Barbe Soccer Complex with an electric feel of soccer. Barbe went up 1-0 10 minutes into the game with a breakaway by Anna Clark. St Louis responds late in the first half on a corner with a put back by Jordan Kolde. Next 30 minutes or so was back and forth and then with 10 minutes left Anna Clark taken down in the box with a PK opportunity. Game winner with the PK was Kristin "who's your daddy" Daughdril (That's for you Goatman). Great night of soccer. Final score Barbe 2 St Louis 1
Here is my analysis of the St Louis Lady Saints.... Well coached team with, and you can quote me on this, a Div III All-State Forward in Natalie Ieyoub. St Louis has had All State players, Lapira, Honera, etc but no 1 single player has come into Barbe Soccer Complex and controlled a game like Nat did tonight. Barbe had to double team her and she still made runs through the defense. She lit up Acadiana last Saturday and when she gets into her district it will be a shooting gallery and Nat will light up any other defense. St Louis defense is led by Jr Missy Minton and Sr goalie Rachel Muth. These 2 players held Barbe's explosive offensive in check and I see very few Div III teams able to score on them. I know it's early, but St Louis parents go ahead and make reservations in Shreveport for Feb 23rd.
Barbe played well and were on their heals most of the night and if there is ever such a thing as an ugly win, Barbe had one tonight. These 2 teams play again before Christmas and should be another great match-up. The home field advantage Barbe relies on played a factor tonight and the Barbe Soccer Complex looked great tonight.
Next up for Barbe, next Tues vs Sam Houston and next Thursday vs Teurlings.

Barbedad I have to agree with everything you wrote. Both teams looked good for this early in the season. I thought the Barbe soccer Complex looked awesome. The t-shirt you made for me fits perfectly and I look forward to wearing it with Pride at the Barbe games and hopefully getting to remove it after our re-match during Christmas break

Terrebonne 1 Vandebilt 0
It was hard to believe that this was just a scrimmage. It was almost a play-off atmosphere with these two teams going at it tonight. Two very good teams that are just a couple of blocks from each other and did not take this game lightly. Both teams were very aware that this will be their only meeting this season and both were determined to make sure they won. From slide tackles to take downs in the box the game had it all.
Terrebonne scored around the middle of the first half on a beutiful combination from the mid to wing to forward Mindy Fanguy with a perfect ball to the far post. Terrebonne had several more chances in the first half but couldn't get past Vandy's solid keeper.
The second half started with Vandy coming out hard but not getting solid shots on the goal. The momemtum turned both ways several times with Terrebonne making Blouin look even better with three one on one break aways that ended up right in her stomach. Vandy made several runs with great saves buy the Terrebonne defense.
All in all a great showing from both teams. As I have said several times Vandy will make a solid showing this year with their young talent. They were missing a couple of starters tonight due to cross country so their depth is solid. Terrebonne is still moving players around looking for the perfect mix so we're expecting them to make some noise this year too. Good luck to both of these Houma teams this year.

I was very disappointed with my tigers tonight. I sure thought the would have looked a lot better after having played and practiced together for an entire year. Yea they won but from what I understand Vandy still has starters in cross country and they played a lot of their jv. If they can only beat a weakened vandy team 1-0 they will be distroyed by laf, fhs,and anyone else outside their district. Tbonne better pick it up a whole bunch if the want to compete. Comon tigers!!
