I'll make a few comments..... Congrats to Tioga getting votes in 3A.........that IS impressive!! Menard looking like they are getting the respect they deserve, well done.
One that really looks extremely strange in 4A is Ben Franklin. I give 100% HUGE respect to the other teams ahead of them, but just do not see all those teams getting some of the results that BF have aquired. Only losing to Newman 0-1 and scoring on both Sacred Heart and Mount Carmel! I think the Falcons will prove many pollsters wrong come playoff time.
Kudos to Dutchtown for breaking into the top 10 in 5A, well deserved.

How is Tioga getting votes in D2 and D3? Somethings not right there, but glad to see them getting votes as well.
Barbedad, DeRidder's record is 14-1-1 not 12-1-1. Of course I am proud of my girls. This is going to be a tough week, since we are making up a rainout, we have 3 games this week, with Tioga being the 2nd of those 3. Should be another classic battle, just hooe we can keep it within the confines of regulation for a change!
Congrats to Menard as well, they definately deserve recognition.

Ok I would like to know why CHSPC and Episcopal are not getting consideration in D3. Both teams just recently beat Redemptorist and CHSPC held their own against some "big dog D1" teams in the St. Amant Tourney.
Just something to ponder.

I will state this... This poll may not be the most accurate in the world, and then it may be. However, I think it gives us a pretty accurate list of how most teams fall in the state.
The problem with trying to do a poll is the lack of results that come in on the girls side. I have had a lot of help getting scores in from different people from accross the state. However, If a person does not step up from each school, or the assignor of referee's to give us scores, then it is nearly impossible to judge all the schools in the state. As you can see above it is hard to even know the exact record, must less who exactly they played.
I love the progress we are making on the girls side, however there has to be some more in order for our pollsters become more accurate. I think in time, this will happen though.

Good point on Catholic PC, they are likely very deserving.
Also, agreed, polls are merely polls, lots of fun, but do not give a team any advantage, likely the opposite.

The most important thing we need to get teams recognized is the records of missing teams. Send me info on Episcopal and CHSPC so we can make some educated choices. Just like Dutchtown and DeRidder making the move in the past few weeks because we are getting info on both.

It is exciting to see Tioga recognized from those not in this area. I guess I missed us in BOTH Division II and III, sigh. But thanks to the 4 that voted for us, it gives others the heads up to watch what we are doing. Thanks to BarbeDad20 and PutMeInCoach for their hard work putting this together so we can see what is going on.
Does anyone know what D2D3 is doing? Looking ahead to playoff bracket it is difficult to even guess who might be matched up since there are no postings for Morgan City, Abbeville, Beau Chene and Opelousas. The only progress we all follow is STM.

The most important thing we need to get teams recognized is the records of missing teams. Send me info on Episcopal and CHSPC so we can make some educated choices. Just like Dutchtown and DeRidder making the move in the past few weeks because we are getting info on both. I post our scores every time. Also there is a thread for Baton Rouge Div III teams (where I have jokingly called it the CHSPC thread since I am the only one to post). The info is there. Also most of the scores are on page 1 of Schedules and results thread. For the record, CHSPC is 9-7-2 as of Jan 8. Ties with Menard 1-1 and Parkview 0-0 Losses against Sacred Heart 0-8, St Scholastica 0-6, BRHS 0-3, St. Michaels 1-2, Tioga 0-1, St Thomas Aquinas 2-3, and Opelousas Catholic 1-2. Wins against McKinley 5-0, Pineville 1-0, Zachary 6-0 and 2-0, Bolton 3-1, Episcopal BR 4-3, Redemptorist 2-0, Christian Life 10-0 and E. Ascension 2-1. We play University on Jan 9 and CHSNI on Jan 15 Thank you to those who mentioned us in this thread. I think there are several schools that need mention. It looks like McGehee has been playing tough games, PJP II, and Opelousas Cath.

District Game
St Martin's 1 - 0 Country Day
Goal scored by Brittany Hidalgo on a free kick. Keeper mishandled the ball and knocked it into the net.

It could just be me ...... but I find it interesting that at this point in the season Acadiana has the same district record as Barbe...and has beaten Byrd, played Mt. Carmel very well (MC won 1-0 on a PK) ....and yet didn't get a vote for state ranking in the top 10. I guess sometimes it doesn't matter if nobody else believes....just as long as you believe.

The polls recognize that some of the teams in D1 D4 are down this year, in the past (even at the begining of the season, there were three ranked teams. Now they are gone and a new one has replaced them. Happy to see Dutchtown get the recognition they deserve. Now heading into the second round of District play can they withstand the challenge?
