I'm pretty sure in my post I put Byrd should be ahead of Magnet and simply tried to state that people may have seen scores that were reported for Magnet. Most voters don't know Byrd went to Dallas because nobody is posting scores consistently for them. I suggest you keep everyone informed on how Byrd is doing and then everyone not from North Louisiana will have a better idea of what's going on up here...not just basing their votes on reputation from previous years. The more info everyone has the more informed decision they can make.

I agree with copakid14 someone from Byrd needs to post scores more consistently. Since we played better with the Texas teams than we have in the past ShreveDad doesn't report that...but a couple of years ago he was more than eager to report Byrd went 0-3 before the girls even got on the bus for the last game. Funny how he gets the bad news out real quick.

My contacts are gone now and I don't care enough anymore to find and post the scores.

Yes I do based on your posts regarding Byrd the last 3 to 4 years. It seemed like whenever you say something good about them there would be a "but" coming to negate or deminish it. Just my opinion. Only you know if you bias against Byrd.

After years of seeing multiple teams from Div I Dis 4, it seems odd that the only team to (correctly garner votes) be listed in the top 10 teams. Dutchtown should be there, it just took a little while to get there. Now what can they do with this ranking come playoff time.

Team news from the Lafayette Daily Advertiser: ComeauxThe chances that the Lady Spartans' soccer team is going to look past lower-division Carencro in Monday's makeup game don't appear to be very big. Carencro upset Comeaux in a shootout in the first round, and a win by Comeaux on Monday would give it a 10-4 district record and sole possession of third place heading into the playoffs. "The girls have talked about little else since that first game,'' CHS coach Adrian Boyle said. "We had just lost to Lafayette High and did not expect to lose that game. I think our girls will be ready this time.'' Lafayette HighThe Lady Lions' soccer team will be trying to wrap up its fourth straight district championship in four years under coach Katie Breaux when it travels to meet Barbe in a district playoff game at 6 p.m. Monday. Both teams finished up league play with two losses, splitting the two games. Barbe won the first game 1-0 in Lake Charles, while LHS won the second round 2-0. www.theadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070128/SPORTS/701280361/1006/SPORTS

New Orleans Area Team news: (from the Times-Picayune)
Deja vu?
The Newman girls soccer team was 0-2 against Sacred Heart last year before defeating the Cardinals 2-0 to win the Division III state championship. Newman is 0-3 against Sacred Heart this season as it heads into next week's Division III state playoffs. Asked if it was deja vu for Newman heading into the state playoffs, Greenies Coach Patrick Summerour said: "Yes and no. It's yes in that our record is almost the same against them, and we haven't beaten them in the regular season. But the contests between our teams this season have been much closer than they were last year," Summerour said. All three Newman-Sacred Heart matches this season have been scoreless ties before Sacred Heart won on penalty kicks. Newman's offense is led by junior Layne Ezell, sophomore Hannah Romig and freshman Lily Miller, who each have scored 10 goals this season.
Cub power
The Mount Carmel soccer team (23-2-1, 8-0) defeated Dominican 4-1 Tuesday to win the District 8-I title. The victory was Mount Carmel's seventh in a row. "We're still making changes and trying to learn the team," first-year coach Aris Kyriakides said. "It's only in the last two or three games that we've found a setup that works well for us." Mount Carmel is led by seniors Ashley Colvin and Kristen Lewis and junior Cat Cole. Colvin, a center forward, and Lewis, a center midfielder, each scored goals against Dominican. "Colvin has a killer instinct, she can smell a goal, and the goals she scores always seem to make a difference," Kyriakides said. "Lewis distributes the ball, and she gives people setups for good goals." Cole is a junior goalkeeper. "I think Cat has been very solid in goal for us," Kyriakides said.
