Fountainebleu has proven to be a solid team for many years, including this year. With this game not being at the Barbe complex, they do not have the edge to win. Their luck will run out tomorrow beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Their luck will run out tomorrow beginning at 5:00 p.m. I always love when people get a new screen name, make a drive by stab, and poof they are gone. The "luck" you describe Barbe as having is 22 hard working young ladies that have played one of the hardest schedules in the state. Barbe has not back down from any challenge yet and they will not on Monday. They will play with 100% effort, 110% heart and win or lose they will leave it on the field. They will not make excuses and blame refs, home field, music, etc like the teams Barbe has beat this year. They will win with class and if this is the last game they play this year, they will lose with class. This should be a great game and it would not surprise me if either team won. Yes I would like Barbe chances better if we were playing at our home field but what team wouldn't?? We won't be getting back in from Mandeville till after midnight on Monday so I will give you my take of the game on Tuesday. Looking forward to some great soccer.

I think this match is too close to call. Both teams bring very strong programs, a strong winning tradition, and outstanding fan support to the pitch. It could come down to a lucky break or PKs. Good Luck to both teams and we look forward to hosting the winner in Lafayette.

Who would of thought that the 1 game district championship playoff would benefit the loser of that game giving Lafayette the home field in the semi's. Huge advantage for Laf whoever they are playing in the semi's.

I am a long time reader of this board - never have posted anything at any time - thought it was time to get an ID and chime in and get the thoughts of others - what's wrong with that? Being a long time reader and visitor to the D1 teams' games for many years, I'm not just the new kid on the block with an attitude. I have an opinion - just that - an opinion. So barbedad20, no need to get crunk---you must know that a level playing field has nothing to do with class. Or does it? There is another sequence of posts which deals with class and we will not go there. If the belief is that home field advantage antics like playing music while the ball is in play, inconsistent/one-sided refs, snipets of disparaging music remarks against the opposing team played during the game, etc. is leverage, heck---that's the basis of Barbe's home field advantage. I've read about all those things and you have brought them up, not I. All I wanted to post was that Fountainebleu will pull the plug on Barbe's "lucky" run on Monday. Opinion only - as I have no dog in that fight!

Have you seen the condition of the Lafayette High field? It is in bad shape, and not an advantage to anyone.

it would help if LHS's groundskeeper wasn't so particularly against most soccer players there. i think a donkey BBQ is in order to get that fixed.
well barbedad, goodluck to you and your team tonight against FHS. hope the rain doesn't catch yall

2-1 Fountainebleau didn't talk long enough to get a recap of the game.
congrats on Barbe on a hard fought season. your time will come soon. the talent is all there.
as for FHS, good luck in the next round against LHS. should be a great game.

So I gues Barbe coach must cancell the reservation for the indoor soccer center in Shreveport. He called and reserved a practice time there before the finals at Indy.

Sounded like a "title fight" between Barbe and FHS. Where is Barbedad's take on the game? Uncharacteristically quiet.

I wanted to say how impressed I was of the Barbe/Fontainebleau game. FHSsoccerfan stated how Barbe had some talented players on that team. He/she is right and I wanted to post how impressive a couple of players that I saw for Barbe were: #15 has an unbelievable throw-in, #3 did an awesome job in the middle dictating the offense especially in the 2nd half, and the forward with the knee brace (can't rember her number) had extremely good footwork, and their goalie did do a very good job in the goal.

What a game last night...... 2 incredibly talented teams and I believe if they played 10 times it would end up a 5-5 split. Before I get to the game let me do some housekeeping. I met a few Fontainebleau fans and 1 in particular had issues with something I have said in the past (and I am sure she is not the only one!!). The first meeting between these 2 teams had a very small turnout and I mentioned it in a post and I think I may have offended her. I was not cutting down the program, just amazed at the lack of support they received. And I will offend again when I say how disappointed I was with the turnout last night with the #1 ranked team playing the #5 ranked team at home and that is the biggest crowd that would show up. I would say the crowd was 50-50 in size and I will say again, if this game was played in Lake Charles it would have been standing room only. Just a warning, you bring 40 or 50 people to Lafayette on Friday and your girls will never hear you because Lafayette will pack the house. Be prepared, District 3 supports their teams and there will be Comeaux fans, Carencro fans, Acadiana fans, and yes Barbe fans at the game to watch a fantastic game. On to the game... Fontainebleau came out tough the 1st half and controlled most of the half. Score on the corner was not pretty but it found the back of the net. Second half Barbe came out on fire and played Barbe soccer. Barbe's goal also came on a corner with a put back header by Alyssa McAtee (Freshman, how huge is that for her- Game winner against Lafayette in District Championship Game and 1 goal against FHS- you can keep your 60+ goal scoring fowards- I'll keep my freshman that gets 2 HUGE Goals anytime). Sorry I digress.... Barbe had its chances in OT to tie but couldn't find the eaqualizer...... A couple of huge games- Macy even though playing only 30-40 minutes total was huge every time she touched the ball, and Wendy was strong at defense. The keeper was all as advertised with every punt going past the 50. I hope she is a senior, don't want to see her next year!! But the 1 player that beat Barbe was Tardeball (sp???). I new of the other 3 but not her and she stepped up big in the game. Great team and should be a great match with Lafayette. And finally....... I wanted to say how impressed I was of the Barbe/Fountain blue game. FHSsoccerfan stated how Barbe had some talented players on that team. He/she is right and I wanted to post how impressive a couple of players that I saw for Barbe were: #15 has an unbelievable throw-in, #3 did an awesome job in the middle dictating the offense especially in the 2nd half, and the forward with the knee brace (can't remember her number) had extremely good footwork, and their goalie did do a very good job in the goal. Thanks for the props, all 4 are great players and I have said on another post.... if you think #3 is impressive, you should meet her dad!! I left the game not upset at all, I thought Barbe played a game we could be proud of and represented the school and District 3 in a manner all could be proud of. These ladies are winners on the field and off the field.

FHS I agree, you probably have a huge crowd for Man-Font but a team like that deserves so much more. EVERY game should be huge knowing that was your last home game of the season even if it was against Barbe--who? I guess we support a little more on our end of the state, just thought the Font girls deserved a huge home crowd...like one they will see against Lafayette this week.
