The top four teams advance to semis...
Here is the scores from Thursday/ Friday: Pineville 4- Tioga 0 Episcopal 1- NCHS 0 C. Point Coupee 2- Leesville 1 ASH 2- Beau Chenne 0 St. Thomas Aquinas 7- West Monroe 2
By the way, all games were random... requests were taken into account, but this is PURE RANDOM DRAW. I do not believe that the 4 best teams may not make it to the final. Every team must get a result... no matter who they play. If you take care of business on the field and win, you put yourself in the position of advancing. You never want to leave your fate in the hands of other teams or tie- breakers.

CP and MC are both hurt? tough one.Hope injuries are small. They are both tough players. We started and are still playing district games down with our leading scorer out with severe sprain and it stinks!Hope they are well soon!

Great job by West Monroe. They lost 7-2 to St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday night, and then turned around less then 24 hours later and won 3-1 in semifinals. The changes obviously worked.

Question. I saw that West Monroe and St. Thomas Aquinas played in a bracket game and they played again for the semis. Why? Typically teams that play each other in brackets do not play each other in the semis, even if that is how the seeds fall.
Also, how did the tournament director come up with the point system. It was 3 points for a win, 2 points for scoring 3 goals or more and 2 points for a shutout. If a team won 2-1, it got 3 points. But, if you lost 3-4, you got 2 points. I am curious as to how it worked out. Did it? Where did you get the system?

I believe those two accounted for every goal against WM on Friday night. They both started and played in the semi-final...although #15 went out for a few minutes with any injury in the first half. Both are VERY TALENTED players that WM couldn't deal with Friday night so please do not think I want to take anything away from their talents or performance. I just wanted to clarify that both played in the semi-final. They are two of the best players we have seen all year so far. If I am talking about the wrong ones - my apologies and would you please give their numbers. Best of luck to STA the rest of the year

Not too sure- my affiliation is with Hammond High but I am assuming that the two leading STA scorers are Cambri Prevost and Malia Cali from score reports and just knowing these girls.Cambri plays on the Lakers and I think Malia does too- they are on different teams but both play subregional premier games. Do not know their numbers at all for high school.

Finals
Episcopal (BR) 2 West Monroe 1
Episcopal went 5-0 for the tournament, only giving up 1 goal. Great effort by the team on a cold and wet day.

Thanks for the clarification. Congratulations on beating Episcopal twice....funny, I don't remember asking if STA had played them this year?
Congratulations also to Episcopal for beating the team in the finals, that beat the team in the semis that beat them twice already this year.
Seriously, Episcopal is a quality team and a class act. They flat out beat WM in the finals and came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit in only 30min halves. No reasons or excuses from WM about the loss - they (Episcopal) deserved to win the final and who they have lost to this season and how many times is irrelevant in regards to the Tioga tournament. The fact is they finished 1st in total points after pool play and they won the tournament. Best of luck to them the rest of the season. I don't care how many times you have lost to STA....you were champions today.

I would have never even tried to make a somewhat sarcastic comment if I would have known this-or something like it-might be the response. Honestly...please don't respond to my last post like this. STA is a VERY-VERY good team. Y'all will go far this year. Do yourself a favor and let your team fly under the radar until you make an impact in the playoffs....which you should and probably will do.

Great competition! Some great games in spite of the weather........amazing what 20 to 30 mph winds can do to a game. The refereeing was excellent! The point system was flawed......though no controversies resulted this weekend. According to the point system a 2-1 win would get the same points as a 0-0 tie. A team could advance witha 1-1-1 record over someone with a 3-0 record......NOT FAIR! Point system needs to be changed fior next year otherwise a good tournament to play in. Congrats to Episcopal......they got the job done, well coached......no real superstars.......the whole team just played well.
