Comeaux will be hard pressed to stop STM from scoring. However with the knack at getting that done, Coach Boyle hopefully can keep his team in the game. One nagging injury to a key Comeaux midfielder doesn't help. His young frshman starting will get a test under fire quick. Keys to the game will be how well they can keep STM bumrushing up the middle, which is a strength. Comeaux will have a difficult time getting some goals from Amber Leblance, most of the defense plays with her on Rage. If she has to go it alone, it will be tough going if Comeaux goes to the 4-5-1 which may be necessary to stay in the game. Keys to this game is discipline in the Comeaux defense to stand up their outside mids and slow their counter. Push STM to the outside and take your chances. Offensively, Amber wilh have to capitalize on what may be few chances, but possible. One other factor will be what referees they get, if STM is allowed to use their physical preference, will be hard going for Comeaux.
Comeaux normally does not get blown out by anybody. But they are facing a STM team that has many things going for them. My guess, STM-3, Comeaux-0.

It seems that everyone is interested in STM's weakness. It definitely is not their Defense! Green, am i right?

You mean there are not backseat coaches with an idea of how to go up against STM, ANYBODY? I can't be the only one! Let's hear em, this is a chat board, CHAT.

No, individually they are all very capable, talented, defenders.

Look at what they did, they held SSA to only one goal. SSA is a powerhouse. I think you need to figure out how to stop them from scoring then try to figure out there defense.

Green, I guess the key word in your statement is "individually". Reading into your statement, we can assume that you believe that there are some deficiencies that can be exploited. Would you care to elaborate?

I think it will be a better game then expected. Not many people gave Comeaux a chance against Barbe and that was a great game. Comeaux lost 2 to 1 but Comeaux had an own goal. Tomorrow night all answers will be provided.

STM, from what I've seen does nothing spectacular on offense, they just come at ya with some speed and from that they get lots of chances, they also capitalize on defenders mistakes, which normally leads to goals. Not having seen SSA play, but my guess is, if you play that final 10 times, result could be 6 to 4 or 5 to 5. It is not over between SSA and STM. If I know Ortner, he's figuring it out now.
daflash- That would be letting the "cat out of the bag" much too early. Season is just getting started, not quite ready to do that. Wanna see if someone else figures it out.

STM plays really well as a team they will be hard to beat as SSA found out. STM will come to play every game and they will leave it all on the field.

Wanna see if someone else figures it out. STM does nothing spectacular on offense, except score goals. They come at you with speed, skill, and a team mentality. SSA and STM is always a great game between two very good TEAMS. Both teams were very competitive in 4A and will continue to be very competitive in 5A. Most thought STM was not ready for 5A, they were obviously wrong. Both of these teams are always ready for a game.

Count how many premier players are on both teams and you will see why these two teams do so well. Then count how many "play on the same Premier team together" and it won't take too long to see why these two teams are dominating. They have confidence, ability and talent and are already used to playing with each other. This has nothing to do with 4A or 5A, especially when these girls play soccer 11 months out of the year. Back it up with quality coaching and it becomes a combination hard to beat. It has little to do with being a team........they are already a team most of the year, except when they get together for HS!

Dominating? I don't know how many of you saw the games STM and SSA played against Mt. Carmel last weekend, but both games could have gone either way and the score was 2-1. Especially the semifinal game SSA vs. Mt. Carmel, if there was one team that dominated, it was Mt. Carmel. Granted, they don't have as many Premier players playing together during the year, but don't count them out. Out of the 3 though I do see STM one step ahead. They have solid talent in every position and they keep at it. That's the secret. But they can be beaten.
