Just a score from this past Tuesday - Lafayette 7-0 over Westgate This was an ugly game, where a Westgate player received a second yellow and was tossed from the game which caused the Westgate fans to cheer and ask for more kicking of the legs. i believe if we would have counted the number of legs being hacked and balls being kicked by Westgate, it would probable be 3 times as many legs over balls. Lafayette was very lucky not to get anyone hurt in this game. That is why the coach brought and played all 29 players. The shots on goal were a whole lot to 2. Westgate crossing mid field -4 New Iberia on Friday - last game in district play. So far everyone healthy. Looking forward to a good playoff run. Lafayette will be the sleeper just like Dominican was last year is my prediction.

Neville - 5 St Fred's - 0
Cold night and trying to get the legs going took a while. Score does not reflect the control of the game as the ball crossed midfield only a handful of times in the second half for St. Fred's. Would like to say the game would have been more lopsided if not for the play of the St. Fred's goalie - she was impressive stopping numerous shots and from all appearances is a heck of an athlete.

West Monroe 1 Ruston 0
Game played in the frozen tundra of Lincoln Parish. There was a brief interruption in the second half when some caribou crossed the field. Refs only had to clean up two droppings.

Game called with 20 mins. to play--field conditions
It seems that with a shot at the playoffs on the line and the fact that it rained for 2 straight days with 38 degree weather, this game would have been postponed until Monday. Several other schools did this, not sure who makes these calls. I believe once you start the refs have control. Hate to see a team get eliminated due to a bad decision over the weather.

I am pretty sure the home team coach or AD has the call before the match starts.

Re: Hahnville/Destrehan game last night.
The game was played at Hahnville. Unfortunately the game didn't start until 5:25 (scheduled start 5:00). I'm sure it was a tough call but the field was playable in the first half. I will give credit to Destrehan because with nothing to play for but pride they (in my biased opinion) were the better team last night.
