Barbe was very lucky to come out with the win. The game was dominated by SSA. They just could not find the back of the net. STM should win the final easily. Who was the obnoxious PA announcer? He was an embarrassment. fyi- barbe's soccer field wouldnt be nearly what it is today without that "embarrassment" of ours

Centermid3 - We would gladly take that "embarrassment" of yours over here on our side of the state at our public schools. What amazing support he has given your school and program. We wish we were so lucky here. McNeese will benefit from having you and his support over the next few years. Good Luck in the Finals.

I think most soccer programs would agree that we all need more "embarrassment" like that in our programs. That's the problem with soccer......not enough "embarrassments"

Well said jus4kicks... +1 karma for you!
Having been an "embarrassment" as I've been told via PM by a nameless (and gutless) person on this site, every program NEEDS an "embarrassment" like Barbe's. Most of us have REAL embarrassments... fans that do NOT know the laws of the game and out of control parents in the stands that make Barbe's "embarrassment" look like a church mouse! Through the years, I've heard everything from cursing to "adults" confronting students just because their son/daughter's team is being beat like a pinita (and having thought they were great), and the worst, specific directions to intentionally injure specific players in specific ways out of the mouths of "adults" (parents). So be careful throwing stones from those glass houses. It's funny only "other teams" have "embarrassments"... especially those who win.
Go to a state final @ Gormley with a N.O. based team playing... now there's a true embarrassment. No place for "homers" announcing at a supposed neutral site final.
I have known Barbe's "embarrassment" before Poopsie played for the Lady Bucs. I must defend my fellow "embarrassment" (not that he needs or wants it). He does not cross the line and direct the team from the pressbox as I have seen in other sports this past fall (NISH & Westgate @ home, football).
He would tell you right now... it is NOT about him, it's about the Lady Bucs. You win or lose on the field, not in the stands. It is called home field advantage for a reason.
Barbe has done well... parents get along, team gets along, no drama, high energy level, good coaching... and they have the four things needed to win a championship in their corner... your team has to be good, has to be deep, has to be healthy, and have to be lucky. Both STM and Barbe have the first three... it will come down to who gets the lucky break. Regardless who wins, you can bet both teams will handle it with class.

Can someone who saw the game tell me about the goal for barbe? barbe forward taylor boyette had a one on one with the keeper. It looked like to me that the keeper was waiting for the ball to roll past the 18 so she could pick it up instead of going out and just kicking the ball. It seemed as though she hesitated for a second thinking the ball would get there faster than it did. Then she decided to go to the ball before it entered the 18. That hesitation gave Taylor one more touch. With that touch Taylor was able to slide the ball past the goalie as the goalie was setting up to kick the ball. One step past the goalie a soft kick in was all it took. This was my perception of the play. I do not know what the goalie was thinking.
