Coaches decided that which ever team scores first will win the game. Both teams must be exhausted.

Well, teurlings had games at 10:00, 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00... considering ninety minute games (including the ten minute half time), they would have finished at 11:30, played at 1:00, finished at 2:30, played at 3:00, and finished at 4:30 to play at 5:00... i dont really understand how the most important games can be the one with the least amount of rest... luckily its only a tournament cuz that seems like a bad way to determine a champion... however it does sound like a good way to see how much heart a team has early in the season

They are 70 minutes games, not 90 (30 min. half). I don't think the "sudden death" final is counted a formal game, is it?

As for the DeRidder/Teurlings game, Teurlings showed up to win that game and we (DHS) did not. I think we underestimated them after they tied parkway and we beat them twice, and everyone was pretty exhausted already. First goal was scored by hollier on a counter attack and the second goal was scored on a set play (I think). Teurlings played very well and we never could work together as a team

It was a good game. TCH's #10 scored in 16th and 18th minutes. The first one was off a throw-in, 20 yards away, and the second one was a CK directly gone to the upper right corner with wind. It was a great shot. UHS came back in the second half with 10 min. left when Taylor Scala hit a nice grounder 18 yards away. Again, people may not agree, but UHS dominated TCH. The shot counts were 7-4 in the first half and 10-3 in the second. UHS pushed hard, particularly in the second half with wind blowing their way. It wasn't enough. TCH also had a header going past UHS goalie, but a UHS defender clear right in front of the goal. TCH goalies had a couple of nice saves to preserve their win. TCH was tired. UHS was in a better shape (starters played only 20 minutes earlier in the day). Still, The Rebels came up on top with a couple of nice shots.

I hope you Hollier doubters are satisfied now. That kid is legit. Best player I've seen this year.

Beauchenecoach, Thanks for a great tournament. We, University squad, surely enjoyed the tournament. Nice seeing you, too. Now can you post the results of all Saturday matches? Thanks again.

Menard beats Teurlings in the final. I think 1-0 but I'm waiting to confirm that.

Yes 1-0 is the correct score. Menard wins Copa Acadiana If I understand correctly, this final was by the "golden goal" method; The team with the first goal wins. Do we count it as an official game?

Hey guys the best team in the Tourney may not have won, but Menard showed a hell of a lot of heart. They were down two starters and their first two subs and found a way to win. I was not present today, but got many reports. Seems like the Eagles got stronger in the second half of every game. A parent called me during the finals and said that the team looked very tired and it was probably a matter of time before Teurlings scored. Well, it turned out that Menard scored first and I guess they get their named etched on the cup this year. Great tournament and I think most teams walked away with some ideas on what they need to work on. Goat it was nice to have met you. Keep up the great work.

If game was golden goal, then it shouldn't count. Personally, I don't think any tourney game should. There is a huge difference between a 60 and 80 minute game. A golden goal game is completely unreliable. Barely better than rain out tourneys decided on penalties.
