Predictions: All higher seeds win the first round with the upsets being: Chapelle over WM Northshore over Acadiana. Even though going with the higher seed it wouldn't surprise me to see New Iberia over Terrebonne.

My predictions:
SSA vs West Jefferson:SSA
East Ascension vs Comeaux : Well, we know the Spartans will win...EA is very hard to score on, but they don't score much...may go into overtime, but I'm predicting EA to pull it out.
Mandeville vs John Ehret: Mandeville
Lafayette vs Ruston: Lafayette
Caddo Magnet vs Walker : Caddo
St Joe's vs Airline: St. Joes
Byrd vs St Amant: This one's a toughie...St. Amant's been scoring a lot, but they've also been getting scored on a lot...I'm giving this one to Byrd.
St Thomas More vs HL Bougeouis: STM
Mt Carmel vs Grace King: Mt Carmel
Terrebonne vs New Iberia: Hmm...I'll give this one to Terrebonne
West Monroe vs Chapelle: This ought to be a good match-up...I'll give this one to Chapelle, but it'll be close
Baton Rouge vs Natchitoches: BRHS
Dutchtown vs Westgate: Dtown
Dominican vs Cental Lafouche: Dominican
Acadiana vs Northshore: I'm putting Northshore to win this one...they're a good team out of a very strong district.
Fontainebleau vs Woodlawn: Fontainebleau

Time for my upset picks:
Most top seeds hold true and there will be 7 games that will be decided by 7+ goals. The upsets:
Comeaux over EA. Not much of an upset (17 over 16) but it looks as if EA has a hard time scoring. Comeaux has one of the best sweepers in the state so 1-0 Comeaux.
NISH over T-bonne. I hope I am wrong on this one Tigermom but NISH looked good Friday vs Sulphur. I am hoping for a T-bonne win and the rematch with Mt Carmel in round 2. NISH 2 T-bonne 1.
Northshore over Acadiana. Not a huge stretch (18 over 15) but I don't know of any other team limping in the playoffs like Acadiana. The Lady Rams (What the heck is a Lady Ram???) lost their leading scorer Friday and will not be back for the playoffs. 2 other starters not 100% for this game so this may not be a close game. Sorry greenfury, going with Northshore 2-0.

Starting to feel like Custer at lil big horn. Giving Northshore an edge in this one might be the logical choice, especially Acadiana losing Bacque to a fractured fibula against STM,(out 8 weeks) I believe that they will pull this one off in front of the hometown fans.
Scouting report from a very good source leads me to believe this will be a good game. Gonna be a defensive game and low scoring. Maybe 1-0. Could be decided in extra time or PKs. Who ever has some good luck or rather no bad luck will pull this one out. I do not see the upset that everyone else sees in this one. Northshore and Acadiana shoud be a good game and well worth the price of admission. Acadiana has held some good attacks at bay before, (Baton Rouge, Byrd, just a PK to Caddo, and dare I say Mighty #9 Lafayette!#?%) and Northshore I have been told does not bring offensive strength to town. So good luck to both teams, and hope all stay healthy!
PS, Nachos will be rationed out for sure now, thanks aliceshoe1.

I don't know if I would say that Northshore does not bring offense to town, I have seen them play this season, and thay have some outstanding forwards who have speed and deadly accurate shots. I wouldn't assume they have issues with finishing because that is by far one of their strengths. Remember the district they are in. They finished fourth and competed well. They are more than used to teams that go hard since they are required to play F'bleau, Mandeville and SSA not once, but twice! I think it will be a good match and a close game.

No disrespect to Northshore, but Acadiana has played some very good defensive games against very good opponents as well. Though not District 7, District 3 is no cake walk either. Agreed, going to be a good even match, despite Acadiana down most of their attacking players, which hurts alot and sucks. Let's see how it turns out. Thanks for the input.

I agree with you rocksccrstar we do have outstanding forwards with speed and accurate shots. It will definitely be a good game. Playing the likes of F'bleau, Mandeville and SSA has made us that much stronger and better. We hung with SSA the first time we played them at 2-1 and gave F'bleu a good game both times we played them and we beat Mandeville the second time we played them. Our girls have alot of heart and desire and I know they will bring their A game and we will see what happens.
