Soccermom20, in conclusion to a few remarks you made, you said that Northshore "deserved to win".......if so, I ask you if you remember a district game not too long ago when a Mandeville team dominated Northshore with 22 shots on goal versus 2? And still lost 1-0. I am sure you were not thinking or reacting the same when Northshore won that one. It was your forward that took advantage of their opportunities and Mandy had a hard time finishing. Give the kids the credit for playing hard and letting the outcome be what it is.

From the Houma Newspaper: (Terrebonne vs New Iberia)
Lady Tigers fall in first round of playoffs, 2-0
HOUMA – The Terrebonne Lady Tigers got off to a slow start and failed to capitalize in scoring oppor-tunities in the second half, falling to New Iberia, 2-0, in the bi-district round of the Division I soccer play-offs.
It ended a season that saw the 14th seeded Lady Tigers win the District 8-I title with a 10-0 district record.
"We got outplayed and were beat to every ball," Terrebonne coach Virginia Lottinger said.
The No. 19 seeded Lady Yellow Jackets (14-8-2) got on the board first when Kristen Lejuene scored in the first half.
The scored stayed 1-0 at half-time.
At times in the second half, the Lady Tigers (19-3-1) threatened to tie the game, but couldn't capitalize. At one point, Terrebonne's Jes-sica Herradon sent a shot just wide of the goal.
Later in the game, New Iberia's Rebecca Landry provided another goal for the 2-0 final.
"We played with desire, and I was pleased with our determination," New Iberia coach Dwayne Hoffpauier said.
New Iberia advances to play the winner of Mt. Carmel and Grace King.

Congrats to NISH in their win over T-Bonne. Great job Dwayne. The keeper did have a fantastic game and yes she did have about 30 saves. And yes Laf did put 10 or so through the uprights. Do you realize how hard that is to do from inside the 6? I have to say that they weren't toe poked though. I just think it may have had something to do with them counting the stars while they shot. (leaning back so much-ha ha) They definitely did not capitalize on scoring opportunities like they did against St. Louis. Could have easily been a 7 or 8 goal night with just the point blank shots. Hats off to the Ruston team for playing hard the whole game. Definitely no quit in this team. And also a GREAT JOB by the Ruston keeper, she is probably one of the best we've seen this year. She will be a keeper for colleges to keep an eye on. I must say that the Lafayette girls team is well coached and all of their players were very respectable and came out and played good clean soccer. I am one of the Ruston coaches and our keepers name is Rachel Hill she is just a soph this year she is a very hard worker and really made me proud by playing one of her best games all season when it counted against one of the best teams in the state! I wish good luck to Lafayette in the next round see you all next season!

When you look at the regional round, its clear to me that the new seeding process worked like a champ. In my humble opinion, the 8 game lineup is difficult to argue with. No doubt a few teams eliminated in round 1 could be here, but knowing that everyone can't advance, the bracket looks healthy. There are several very good match ups this week.
SSA over Comeaux by 3 Big win by the Spartans last week but tough draw Lafayette over Mandeville This one could go extras and will be a 1 goal game won in dramatic fashion St Joe's over Caddo I think St Joe's wins a close one but Caddo scares me St Thomas More over Byrd STM should win this but Byrd has played well of late. STM by 1 Mt Carmel over New Iberia Sorry NISH, I don't think this ones close Cubs by 3 BRHS over WM BR is favored and should advance they are a quiet favorite by some of us to go far. As many of the match ups this round, WM is good and will not go quietly BRHS by 2 Dutchtown not getting much respect this week. They lost by 4 2 years ago at Dominican. They look to repay the favor. Griffins by 1 Fontainebleau/Acadiana the Rams were going to be challenged already w/o Bacque. All of the drama against Northshore makes it worse FHS by 3
Only 1 upset (St Joes) I think Lafayette 9 over 8 isn't really an upset. Another great week for Girls Soccer.

My picks:
SSA/Comeaux - SSA by 3. Blanchard and company will be backed up most of the game, goalie might feel like she is in a shooting gallery.
Mandeville/Lafayette - Mandy takes this one, but it will be another close one.
St. Joe/Caddo - St.Joe's in overtime. I think this is the worst team for Caddo to draw. Best defense against a good attack, but I had the feeling this could be an upset. Set pieces decides this one and St.Joe's is better at um.
STM/Bryd - Don't really believe that Byrd can play well enough to take this game from STM. Lady Cougars take this one by 2.
MCA/NISH - Will be a valiant effort by NISH, but Mt. Carmel by several.
BRHS/WM - BRHS takes this one by 2. Possession will favor BRHS.
Dutchtown/Dominican - Lady Griffins by 1, but not an easy game.
FHS/Acadiana - Acadiana losing players by the game, one more in question off starting 11, FHS wins this one by a few. Unfortunatley not a real even match up, Acadiana at 65% at best. Gut check time.

Magnet 2-1. They have a rock solid defense, a good keeper, solid play in the midfield and strong attacking forwards. They are a well coached team and they will go far in the playoffs.

Sounds like Acadiana. Obviously you guys are not 100%, not the best time to NOT be your best. Best of luck anyway.

Caddo Magnet vs St Joe's Tuesday 5pm
Game is tentatively scheduled for Independence Stadium but may have to be played at Caddo Soccer Field. Waiting on final word from stadium staff. Indy would be ideal given the weather forecast, the field drains very well unlike the Caddo field.
