Confusion around start time of BRHS vs WM game.
I was told that the game starts at 6 PM.
Today's sports page in the Morning Advocate had both times listed. (One time in the soccer article, the other in the schedule).
The game is definitely at Lee High (no lights at BRHS field).

BRHS 1 - WM 0
Recap:
WM played a defensive minded game looking to counter attack with long passes. They defended in numbers behind the ball with 8 or even 9 players clogging up passing lanes and filling the area. BRHS had several shots in the 1st half, but most of them outside the box. The WM keeper was well positioned to stop the threatening shots in the first half. The WM defensive strategy prevented BRHS from generating any meaningful shots in the area in the 1st half. WM did not generate many (any?) shots in the 1st half with BRHS having the majority of possession. Halftime score was 0 – 0.
The 2nd half started with more of the same with BRHS trying to work through a stingy WM defense. Finally, 10 min into the 2nd half, BRHS scored on a combination as Cancienne played a ball to Allbright who one touched to Henderson who was cutting through the area. Henderson beat a defender and played a low ball to the far post for the goal. After the score, BRHS rearranged their personnel into a more defensive arrangement and played 1/2 to 3/4 pressure. Not exactly bunkering in, but more defensive minded. After this change WM was able to get numbers further up field and generate a couple of good looks, but didn’t convert.
Congratulations to West Monroe for making the long trip to Baton Rouge and playing with intensity for the entire game. They didn’t quit and made BRHS earn this win.

After watching Dutchtown destroy Dominican, I believe Dutchtown will meet SSA for the championship! Hold on there Kemo Sabe (and yes, that is how you spell it!). Though Dutchtown may make the finals, please remember they "destroyed" the #10 seeded team. The path through Fontainebleau and either Mt Carmel/Baton Rouge will be a much tougher test. Let's worry about Fontainebleau first and not make reservations for Shreveport just yet.

I've learned that "destroyed" is a term that should be used carefully in soccer. Remember, somebody else probably saw the same game and won't be fooled or amused by a simplistic assessment like "destroyed." I didn't see the game, but I have seen Domincan play, and I have seen plenty of 3-0 wins where the losing team was not "destroyed." I suspect notredave may have been into the koolaid before his exhuberant post.

Destroyed!! Well if getting out shot 6-3 in the first half, then get totally dominated for about the first 12 minutes in the second half is a dominating performance then that is what notredave witnessed last night. Dominican had numerous chances to score in each half and just couldn't put it in the back of the net. Dutchtown played more of a kickball/longball game where as Dominican played a more technical game with stringing several passes together to get their unmade shots off. At one point I wondered how many corners could Dominican take and not score!! But I guess they were destroyed!

FHS -1 Acadiana -0
Recap of game.
I was hoping that someone from FHS would give a recap, but guess they won't except for the additional words to add to this one.... so here goes. FHS came out swinging right from the whistle. Acadiana expected to spend most of their time frustrating their attack and defending in their own half, and that is what happened ......most of the time. Acadiana in the 18th minute gave up what was FHS's first cross of the game, as it found the head of a unmarked forward to put the score up 1-0. Most of the first half was FHS probing and looking for a weakness, switching the field, challengind, but Acadiana stepped up and limited their chances, which resulted in several shots taken from the 20plus yard range which GK Lefleur handled with no problem. Somewhere after the first goal, FHS was awarded a PK in the box, which was saved by Lefleur, who has had an incredible post season for the Lady Rams, securing two blocked PKs against Northshore, and a big save here to keep Acadiana close. Acadiana did get off a couple of quality shots from midfielder Stefan that had way too much promise to nearly tie the game at half. Half time score obviously 1-0. Second half was way more interesting as both teams had better possession especially Acadiana, who without Bacque actually put up a nice couple of counters sporadically all second half. Acadiana's defense along with some outstanding GK saves, frustrated the FHS attack the entire game, especially late in the second half where they were able to get a few more crosses in tight, forcing two great saves from Lefleur. Game was called fairly well, I thought there were a few calls that could of gone either way, but all in all good enough for the Hammond crew.
What surprised me was how Acadiana, battered and bruised was able to counter!! The 4-3-3 formation that FHS runs lived up to its scouting report that. The front six play aggressive, fluid and show great confidence in their attack. Nice to watch. The defense was what I was told was not befitting the reputation this team usually has. FHS at times more often than not was vulnerable to the quick counter and most noticeable to speed. FHS's D will get a real test against Dutchtown.
From the botton looking up all year, Acadians has at times showed the ability to play with most teams(when 100%) in the Top 10. However they found themselves ranked in a position where they had to face a tough seed in the regional round, and in my opinion played their best soccer all year long! Especially with out Forward Bacque(fractured fibula), a wounded trio of attacking Mids and Forwards in Gil(ankle, stomach), Rhodes(hamstring, knee), and Mouton(Turf toe, strained MCL). Do not let me mislead anyone, the game I saw was mostly all FHS, but what I like is how Acadiana, with nearly all their starters coming back next year will for the first time be able to compete with all that Div I has to offer.
Good luck to FHS the rest of the way, as to all the remaining teams this year in their quest for a state championship.

heyref,
While I don't think Dominican was "destroyed", I also don't agree at all with your description of the game. It appeared to me to be the exact opposite.
Dominican's only serious pushes up the field came after long kicks from the goalie. This was expecially true in the 2nd half as they had the wind behind them. Conversely, Dtown strung together some nice passes in both halves to move the ball up the field. Maybe you had the teams confused. ;-)
Cruthird's second goal was a sight to behold. Upper 90 ... no way to get it. She has a very nice touch on the ball, that's for sure.
