In an effort to induce mayhem, controversy, and discord on a Wednesday morning ;D, I offer my top 16 seeds. This based upon a complex formula where I have taken all teams' records, stats, coaching philosophies, average barometric pressures of their home fields, high profile break-ups with boyfriends, and the dates of their winter formal dances -- and have given all of this for analysis to the gypsies who are are camped just down the road. The results are as follows --
1. STM -- they could win a roller derby tourney with their speed and physicality; 2. MCA -- love the way they possess, their patience, and then BOOM -- they're on you;
If the NFC North is the black and blue division, its equivalent in girls soccer in La is the below district:
3. Font 4. Mandy 5. SSA
6. Dominican -- a lot of youth and a ton of skill; 7. Lafayette -- same as above 8. Northshore -- the 4th component to the "district of death" 9. St. Joseph's -- Leah Aultman is back from injury. Anna Helm is a huge scoring threat. A lot of quality depth;
This is about the point where the folks from north La will begin demanding my head. Byrd and West Monroe played in the Mandeville tourney between Christmas and New Year's. Both got bruised up a bit, although W. Monroe tied MCA and Font.
10. West Monroe 11. Dutchtown -- Gibbs and Robichaux [UPDATED to remove qualifier about Gibbs]; 12. Byrd 13. Baton Rouge High -- a defensive blanket; 14. East Ascension 15. Westgate 16. Terrebone
Let the mayhem begin. Mail all letters to 1313 Mockingbird Lane -- or hand deliver, but beware of Spot.

As of today, I would have a hard time ranking mandeville above FHS and SSA being that Mandeville has lost it's last two matches to those schools within the past few weeks. It could change before the play-offs begin with SSA still having to play both FHS and Mandeville the last week of the season.

Reminds me of house of Ill repute on river walk in San An, loved the name - Tequilla Mockingbird.
I'd place WM ahead of St Joes. I'd also have EA, Dutch, Byrd, Hahnville, St Amant in among St Joes area too.
Excellent points on # 1 and 2.
What's ramifications for Northshore. Hammond dropping hurts their District W % and missing out on a WC would be a terrible shame.

Looking at St Joseph's schedule I see where they also got "bruised up" by the top teams in the state including a loss to DII powerhouse St. Louis. No wins or ties vs. a top 10 team.

St. Joseph's beat St. Louis. Its 4 losses are to MCA [twice by scores of 3-0 and 1-0], St. Thomas Moore, and Sacred Heart [No. 1 in Div. III]. SJA has also beaten Catholic High New Iberia -- currently No. 2 in Div. III behind SH.

I've taken a look at the Division I district standings and highlighted those teams that have a chance to compete in the playoffs and came to the following conclusion.
District 1 Byrd - competed with the southern teams
District 2 West Monroe - Has competed with the top teir teams
District 3 Lafayette - belongs in the top 7
District 4 STM - belongs in the top 2
District 5 St. Joseph's - District winners and played STM tough
District 6 NONE - don't think Dutchtown can compete
District 7 FHS, MANDY, SSA - obvious Northshore - better than most district champs
District 8 None - Terrebonne - can't compete with top 10
District 9 NONE
District 10 Mt. Carmel & Dominican
Okay there are 11 teams that can compete so the other teams are given a pass to the playoffs for having a better than the rest team.
The talk of bringing it down to 24 teams in the playoffs makes sense if the power ranking are based on how good the team is and not whether they are district champs or not. Example: Northshore IS BETTER than almost all of District 1,2,3,4,5, 8 & 9 should they be snubbed for finishing 4th in the toughest district in the state for Champ out of District 9. Their reward for winning District 9 should be the title not the entry in to the dance. That's what will happen if they cut it down to 24 teams.
Those who look at things realisticly will agree, those who live in their world won't. Sorry in advance for pissing those off.

Don't you think Dtown should be a little higher? Mandy had goal in last minute of the game to salvage a tie 2-2. Just food for thought.

Good point watsagriffin, but you have to watch cause sokerfan is right. Its interesting the answers on the other thread I started, since some people think seeding should be based on key player/s being missing, yet know one credits during the season losses that teams have when key player/s were still out. Much is the case for Dutchtown in their earlier losses to teams in the top 10

Don't hate, that's why I'm still a bench warmer. I am one of those that leaned towards the total team effort in rankings and then flip flopped when I thought Dtown was rated a little low. And the beat goes on...

You're right on that one. Mandy played great in the second half to come back from 2-0. I guess I'm hating!

I updated my seeds to a.) re-arrange my order in the district of death, and b.) to remove the qualifier about Gibbs. According to the BR paper, she scored last night. D'town is either confident of her status, or they got a ruling.

Yea we are not concerned about the Gibbs situation. History. But look out for that spunky little soph. Summer Bernard who decided to take over the game with 3 goals when her misguided father told her she could have a new Iphone if she scored 2 goals this week. I guess she wanted a cover for it too. Her dad must be a knuckhead.

Dominican should be seeded #4, #5 or #6.
We have a quality wins over Fontainebleau, Vandebilt, Byrd & West Monroe.
We have losses to St. Scholastica, St. Thomas More, Mandeville and twice to Mt. Carmel.
Both losses to Mt. Carmel were in shootouts after both games ended 0-0. In the losses to Mandeville and St. Thomas More both were by one goal; 0-1 & 1-2 respectively. In the loss to St. Scholastica we were missing many starters, but none the less we still lost 0-6.
We also tied Lafayette and Sacred Heart 0-0.
I believe that Mandeville, Mt. Carmel, St. Scholastica & St. Thomas More, in any order, should be ahead of us by pure results against these teams.
You could rank us as high as #4 with our two recent results against Mt. Carmel. For 200 minutes the games were scoreless.
You could rank us #5 after all of the teams in Division I that beat us throughout the season.
You might possibly rank us as low as #6 after the teams that beat us and Fontainebleau. However, if you were to rank Fontainebleau ahead of us because they won the Northshore District which includes the two team's that beat us then you might want to rank us #4 if you rank them (Fontainebleau) as high as #3.
