Nutmeg - close losses are counted as losses. DHS is a solid #6. As a #6 you will get to prove you're better than FHS or perhaps Mandy.

If that's right who do you put ahead of us? Fontainebleau who we beat? Seems kind of hard to do if losses are losses. I know come playoff time you have to win on the field to be the state champion. But let's be honest it should be easier the closer you are to the top seeded team.

I don't think you can look at any individual win or loss amoung the top 7 and rank one team above another. Domincan beat Fontainebleau who beat St Scholastica who beat Dominican. Who do you rank 1st in that scenario? You have to look at the total body of work and make your best guess.

Just some food for thought. The ONLY team in the top 7 that HAS NOT played in a tourney this year is SSA. In other words they have played every team FRESH, 1 game a day. The other 6 teams played in the same tourney against each other 2 games a day.
LAFAYETTE played Dominican & Fontainebleau in the same day with Mandy the next morning. (3 ties) STM played Mt. Carmel & Mandy in the same day, FHS & Dominican the next day. (3 wins 1 loss)
Those who played in Mandeville weren't always fresh facing a top 10 opponent like SSA was all year long. What if the match-ups were on individual nights like SSA's season. Who knows maybe Lafayette wouldn't have tied Dominican, Mandy & FHS.
Maybe the strategy of Coach Mike is a good one, try to keep fresh against the top teams. Would they have more losses having played STM & Lafayette in the same day, or even the next day after playing STM & Byrd and then Lafayette? Who knows because he didn't take the chance. Playoffs are 1 game a day so we know what they are capable of, and that is losing to Mandy, FHS and have Northshore take them to overtime.
So do they actually belong ahead of Dominican or Lafayette, or should they be ranked 7th behind (in no particular order) STM, Mandy, Mt. Carmel, FHS, Lafayette, & Dominican?
Just food for thought.

From my view, this is where I would rank the teams for playoff purposes. 1. STM 2. MC 3. Mandeville 4. SSA 5. Dominican 6. Fontainebleau 7. Lafayette The real key is getting hot at the right time, like SSA did last year. Had SSA played Domincan on a dry field last year, the finals would have been an all New Orleans final. With Mandy's win over SSA, maybe the Skippers are getting hot. If Dominican can convert its PKs, it can win the tournament. Home field advantage will be critical, especially where the fields are narrow and sloppy. Ultimately, the games will have to be won on the field and the top seed will not have to play anyone tough until the semi-finals.
