There are errors in this list. I hope for ranking's sake people do not depend soley on these power ratings. I think power ratings are a great idea ONLY if there is a way to collect accurate data. In this list Christian Life is listed as having 1 win, I know they have at least 4 maybe 5 wins, and I know Redemptorist played more than five games this season. These are just two of the numerous errors (no real good collection system). Just saying, great idea but terribly flawed right now.

Your girls will be fine Coach, just tell them play hard and have fun as this is THEIR reward for the hard work all season. IHS Coach

Well... send in the scores. Its not as though appeals to get all information in haven't been made over and over again. Just like in school if you don't turn in your work you can't get credit for it. And quite frankly that works wether we are talking about voters or a computer rating.

Thanks for all your computer work, Jdempsey. I wanted to check throught what date are games included. Newman's win over Ben Franklin 1-0 yesterday specifically. (I did post last night, but I know a lot of data entry goes into the calculations) Thanks again....

Everything that was posted as of yesterday is included if you posted results last night they aren't included but I'll update tonight and tomorrow as I know there are still games to be played.

Where are they listed? I'm not sure what you are asking. The ratings were calculated by me using flat3's formula in a template from lojic.

Respectfully, Mr. Dempsey Please note Catholic of New Iberia only has two losses. They are 24-2-1, but one win was yesterday and one was against a JV team. I did send in a note to have two games updated this week that were never put on the schedule board. This may be what led to the discrepancy.

I assume the win yesterday was against Westgate and games against JV teams don't count. JV teams don't have records posted here and there is no way to get all of the information on them not to mention there would have to be separate way to score your points for beating a JV team. Catholic was not the only team to have played JV teams in Tournaments and it was this way across the board. The same goes for teams from out of state. There just isn't any information on them. I also have fixed the record for you. What was the score for the Westgate game? And which games are currently missing from the schedule and results thread?

Not intimately familiar with how this formula works, but it appears that it may not place great emphasis on strength of schedule, and obviously there is incomplete info on several teams
Have seen all of the teams in the top ten of the poll and a number of others listed, though not all, and would have to say the poll is a much closer approximation of the strength of the teams.

No sir the win yesterday was against Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau and the schedule has now been fixed. One other game that you should not count that I forgot about was against a Mississippi team in a tourney. The Westgate game is tomorrow. The record for your purposes to date should be 22-2-1 (excludes the JV game and the MS game).
Thanks again!

Thanks to the folks who let me know of discrepancies and were able to provide info that needed to be included. I will try to continue to update the PR through tomorrow night. Oh and sorry about the disappearance of the table that nutmeg provided us with. When updating I tried to insert table and couldn't get it to show up properly. Please continue to let me know if you see something wrong with a record and can provide missing information.

Coaches and Fans,
More scores have come through today and I have added them. They are nit yet reflected in the rankings as of this posting but I will add the rest of the scores from todays games and modify the post or post as complete a power rating as possible tonight at some point. Please send in any missing scores you may know about. You can send them directly to me through a private message on this board or email them directly to me at john@bayousoccer.com every bit of information we can get our eyes on before seeding teams tomorrow will help us get it right. Thank you all for your help.
John Dempsey

I appreciate all the hard work put into this information. It's always nice to have a guide. However, as a representative from a team above whose schedule is incorrect, thus throwing the girls much lower than all previous rankings, and honestly what performance against top teams has justified, I ask is it better to have a guide with incorrect information or no guide at all. Most of these coaches have done the research, and they know who should fit where, hence the accuracy (in my opinion) of the polls thus far. Is it right to post something that, while if accurate is definitely necessary, does a disservice to some teams?
I don't mean to offend anyone, and I certainly appreciate all the hard work put into this. Ultimately though, I hope coaches put in the research to make an accurate ranking, as they've seemed to do all season.
