The North has been the topic of the day. 10th seeded C. Shreve hosts 23 seeded Covington. Can Covington demonstrate the reason why district 7 is the best in the state? should be a good game if the Lions can take Northshore to overtime then it will be a big test for the Gators, home team higher seed is expected to win and I think we will but not going to be cake..shreve 3-2 I watched the Northshore/Covington overtime game. I hope Covington fans don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way, but Northshore controlled probably 80% of the possession. NHS's problem was that they could not finish. NHS probably took 35-40 shots. CHS's keeper made some big saves, but most of Northshore's shots weren't even close. That being said, I had the opportunity to watch Conner Randell from Shreve play last year. This kid is a finisher! IMO, Covington will not be able to contain him. Look for Conner to have a BIG night. Shreve by at least 3.

Shreve better be careful with this one. They havent had a more difficult first round game than this since the Woodlawn B.R. game. If Shreve comes in and quickly puts pressure on the ball, then Shreve wins easily by 3. Covington just doesnt have enough talent to possess around high pressure. That being said, don't keep Covington out of this game. Im sure they will have an efficient gameplan to keep Connor off the scoreboard. This should be a great matchup and Im excited to watch it.

Fiend, who is that red head for Shreve?? He reminds me of a fantastic player...... Cesc Fabregas

that clip was highlights from last season when Connor was a Junior (none of my footage/editing) But the talented "redhead" you mention would be none other than the gifted talented Will Monsour..if Fabregas continue to work on his form he might approach Monsour's talent level in short order

I have to say I disagree with those who think this is going to be a tough match for Shreve. In the last 2/3 of Jan., Covington was 2-5- including a 4 goal loss to F'bleau and a 2 goal loss to Mandeville. The teams they beat have a combined record of 3-30.
Now I haven't see Shreve play, but if they deserve their ranking, they shouldn't have any trouble at home against an opponent making a long trip.

Randel is good but as everyone keeps saying, one player doesn't make a team. Stephen Baudean and conor randel will be a good challenge to watch.

I have no worries with this one. Captain Shreve is well coached and the tactically changes he makes especially 2nd half of the year moving personnel has been brilliant. I pick shreve easily in this one.
I love their chances!

You will make a big mistake if you think Shreve only has Randel. First, Connor is way more than "good" and the rest of the players are also more than "good". This is by far a one man show. Here are six that I know amoungst many others. Lawrence (senior defender - "good"), Usry (sophomore forward - "good"), Gray - (Junior Mid- "good"...love that kid from my son's club team), Hong-Cho (Sophomore-Mid - "good"), Kenny Chism ( Midfield - "good") , Andrew Doughty ( Defense/Midfield - "good").
Top it off, they have a coach that knows how to teach the beautiful game to kids, including exceptional positive team play and passing. Note that Connor is not only a tremendous finisher but that boy knows how to pass and involve the less experienced players on his team.

You left off Will T in the defense.
I hardily agree with your comment about Connor involving all players. To me, that is what separates him from the pack of good soccer players and puts him in the pack of great soccer players.

Shreve is notorious for having terrible 1st round games. As good as the teams were the past two years, they barely escaped into the second round. But once there, did well. I hope this team does better. Shreve needs to come out strong and establish their game. If they do, they will be fine. I think our midfield is the key. If we can make positive transitions and get the ball to our forwards, I believe we can win by 2-3 goals. you do mean the previous 2 years before last year..we beat Ouachita 6-1 in the first round last year Your right. I was thinking Ouachita was our second game. I stand corrected, Again.

Connor and Neal are pretty good but not so sure about getting good balls from the wings. Shreve has some really slow midfielders. Hope they prove me wrong but i dunno.

The North has been the topic of the day. 10th seeded C. Shreve hosts 23 seeded Covington. Can Covington demonstrate the reason why district 7 is the best in the state? First dist 7 isn't the best district in the state second shreve heard the same thing last year (all the great dist. talk) when northshoren came to shreveport, and we all know how that went. Shreve wins, connor and or neil have hat trick!!! Nuff said!

Haha check the 2:17 mark.... if neal hits connor one time back in front of goal, then Shreve's in the Finals.

Let's Go Covington. It's going to be a good match. I'm going to be in the Shreveport area and I may stop by to watch, DEPENDING on the weather. If Covington can hold there ground on defense and get a few attempts it would be a 1-0 2-1 game. Covington forwards will have to step up because Shreve can finish very well. Odds are swinging Shreve's way though..
