I don't know how bad the weather is in south Louisiana, but we"ve got probably 3+ inches of mostly snow on the ground in the Shreveport area. I have a feeling that there won't be many soccer games going tomorrow. What's on the ground here won't be gone until late tomorrow at best and I don't imagine the travel conditions will improve much until at least mid-day tomorrow. What does everyone else think??

Saturday matches at Lee Hedges have been canceled. Caddo Parish School Board has canceled everything in every sport until Sunday at noon at the earliest.

It's just wet and cold on south La. Games in BR and south of BR should play. I heard I49 in Alex is closed and could be for days. I guess those of us headed down will take the old route. Sounds like we just have to make it past Alex and we will be alright?!? How is I10 or 190?

re: benton-mckinley game. unless some snow can be removed from the tinsley#4 (or whichever field), the sun is going to have a hard time dissipating the snow befor kickoff time..... especially along touchlines and big/little d lines. (leafblowers???)

(leafblowers???) That's why this coach will be there early with a shovel in hand. Plan on clearing the lines myself!

I am glad McKinley kept with the plans and travelled to Bossier yesterday. I know suggesting blowing the snow or doing what it took to remove it seemed like a rediculous request, to us it is just what we do. The McKinley boys had a crew including the principal, faculty coach, coaches, parents and players at the school 6 hrs before gametime removing water from the field with shovels, wet vac, and putting down sand! Field preparation is something we have to do prior to every home game! Travel was our biggest concern, but Dixie Tours did a great job of investigating alternate routes and helping us schedule plenty of travel time. Other than water on the field, Tinsley was in great shape and much better than many of our home fields. Thanks for removing the snow from the touchlines coach! Glad the sunshine took care of the rest.
