Trying to see how some teams did this entire first week of the season. Number 3 BM defeated Catholic and STP (2-0-0). Number 4 Acadiana lost to University and beat Central (1-1-0). Number 4 STP tied Dutchtown, tied Catholic and lost to BM (0-1-2) Number 7 Dutchtown tied STP, beat Comeaux, Redemptorist, Terrebonne and University (4-0-1) Number 9 Catholic lost to Fountainebleau, lost to BM, beat EDW and tied STP (1-2-1) Number 11 Rummel beat Northshore, lost to Vandy and tied St. Martins (1-1-1) Number 12 Central Lafouche tied Fountainebleau and Mandeville, and beat Ponchatoula (1-0-2) Number 13 Fountainebleau beat Catholic, lost to Mandeville, tied Central Lafouche and beat Woodlawn ((2-1-1) and Number 14 Mandeville beat STA and won the Novembre Futbol Classico (5-0-1). And Number 15 Comeaux should be replaced by Northshore. Looks like Dutchtown moves up to Number 4, while I say that Acadiana and Catholic should drop from the Top 10. If I am incorrect on any of these first week results, please correct.

lets add some questions to the poll
1. Lafayette... who can argue against them, their playing and winning! 2. Jesuit... dropped out of a tournament, and heard they wont play until district, should they be ranked at all even while not playing? 3. Brother Martin... lost to St. Pauls in an offensive shootout... is the defense going to a problem? 4. Acadiana... got shut out by university, and beat some lower quality teams 4. St. Pauls... they beat brother martin, tied st. amant earlier in the week, and tired dutchtown, thats when you adding ties and its hard to tell which team played better unless your there 6. St Amant... showing really well, beat Capt. Shreve, but lost by 5 to lafayette 7. Dutchtown... beat univerisity and tied st. pauls, not to bad 8. Caddo Magnet.... didnt get any scores this week... 9. Catholic BR... tied st. pauls and beat brother martin... beat 2, but lost to Fontainebleau 10. Captain Shreve.... close game with St. Amant, then beat St. Michael's and Episiscol 11. Rummel- beat Northshore, lost to Vandy and tied St. Martins 12. Central Lafourche- beat Ponchy, tied Fontainebleau due to a PK in the final 5 minutes, tied Mandeville do to an own goal against themselves... 13. Fontainebleau... lost to mandeville, tied CL on a PK, beat woodlawn 14. Mandeville... won the tournament with a tie against CL... 15. Comeaux... should drop out the top 15, with a big loss against Terrebonne and another team
Should be interesting when the next polls come out to see where some of these teams fall

Okay everybody--
Here is as up to date list of the ranked teams results for THIS WEEK (I am not including any scrimmages or jamboree scores, only actual games played this week)
#1 Lafayette--week 5-0-0: Beat St Thomas More 3-0, Beat BRHS 3-0, Beat East Ascension 3-1, Beat Dutchtown JV 6-0, Beat #6 St Amant 5-0
#2 Jesuit--wont begin play until later this year....maybe
#3 Brother Martin--week 3-1-0: Beat #9 Catholic 2-0, Beat ED White, Beat Vandebilt JV, Lost to #4 St Pauls 6-4
#4(t) Acadiana--week 2-1-0: Beat Central 6-0, Beat Catholic JV 10-0, Lost to University 2-0
#4(t) St Pauls--week 3-0-2: tied #7 Dutchtown 4-4, Beat #3 Brother Martin 6-4, Beat ED White, Beat Vandebilt JV, Tied #9 Catholic 1-1
#6 St Amant--week 4-1: beat Tara 7-0, Beat Episcopal 1-0, Beat #10 Captain Shreve 2-1, Beat St Micheals 4-2, Lost to #1 Lafayette 5-0
#7 Dutchtown--week 4-0-1: Tied #4 St Pauls 4-4, Beat Comeaux 7-1, Beat Redemptorist 10-0, Beat Terrebonne 3-1, Beat University 3-1
#8 Caddo Magnet--week ?
#9 Catholic--week 2-2-1: Lost to Fontainebleau 3-1, Beat ED White 7-0, Beat Vandebilt JV 7-0, Lost to #3 Brother Martin 2-0, Tied #4 St Pauls 1-1
#10 Capt Shreve--week 3-1-0: Beat Parkway 3-0, Beat St Micheals 5-1, Lost to #6 St Amant 2-1, Beat Episcopal 5-2
Others receiving votes:
Rummel--week 2-1-1: Beat Northshore 1-0, Lost to Vandebilt 3-0, Tied St Martins 0-0, Beat Holy Cross 1-0
Central Lafourche--week 1-0-2: Beat Ponchatoula 2-0, Tied Fontainebleau 1-1, Tied Mandeville 1-1
Fontainebleau--week 2-1-1: Beat #9 Catholic 3-1, Lost to Mandeville 1-0, Tied Central Lafourche 1-1, beat Woodlawn 1-0
Mandeville--week 4-0-1: Beat Fontainebleau 1-0, Beat Pope John Paul 4-0, Tied Central Lafourche 1-1, beat Hahnville, Beat St Charles Catholic 3-1
Comeaux--week 1-3-0: Lost to Barbe 2-1, Lost to #7 Dutchtown 7-1, Lost to Terrebonne 5-0, Beat Redemptorist 4-0
With these results, it looks to me that Acadiana and Catholic drop, while Mandeville moves up. Acadiana should drop at least to #10, if not below, until they win against a quality opponent. Catholic has played some tough competition, but only has wins against a struggling ED White, and a JV team--result against St Pauls is a good one though. St Amant and Dutchtown should both move up one or stay the same with good results against top 10 teams. St Pauls had the most impressive week with positive results against 3 top ten teams--they will be my #2
Jesuit really shouldnt be included in any poll until they begin play. Right now they dont exist as an actual team, arent playing and arent practicing. I dont have a problem with them being ranked once they begin, but there still are some serious questions as to when/if they will get back into school this year. I know they have good intentions to restart, but until they start, I think they should be left off the list--my opinion only.

st amant may have beaten some good/ok teams such as shreve/episcopal/st micheals, but that 5-0 beating by laffayette has got to be a little worriesome, as they were the only top 5 team played, and since st amant is 6th, you think the score would be closer, or is lafayette just that good?

Laffayette is that good, and game got stupid at the end with scrapping and ejections. Lafayette finally hit the turbo drive in game with us--Laffy trainer said he felt like they finally got it all together in his comment to us after the game. St Amant has played some of the better teams statewide in preseason (beat St Pauls in a scrimmage 4-3, and beat Bro Martin 1-0, and University 4-1 in jamboree games), and while they are all excellent teams, they dont compare to LHS. Lions are on a level all by themselves, have a ton of seniors (13 I believe), and are the whole package. No doubt we should have/could have played better, but St Amant is still the only top ranked team that LHS has played, so tough judging of the Gators might need to wait for another week. St Amant plays Episcopal again, Brother Martin, and University in the next 10 days, so a clearer picture of the Gators will come to light soon enough.

maybe laffy didnt try/put out a full effort against BRH in the first round, but if you take away one throw in and two corners, laffyette ties 0-0. the size and strength advantage up front coupled with the long throw is deadly like ostrya says

how are you going to take away a throw in and two corners??? that's the game. so should st. amant try to take away some of the goals against them too?? lafayette was by far the best team out there this weekend. no question.
how would st. amant move up in the polls after getting beat that bad? i don't really understand that. if you compare it to football polls this college season, lsu moved down a couple of times AFTER WINNING, and st. amant thinks they should move up?? wow.
and what about acadiana losing to u-high. wow, what a victory for u-high. that's big time. i don't think they have ever beaten acadiana before.

I agree about dropping Jesuit. Aint dere right now. May reopen the end of January. Hubie is in Dallas and may not return. Remember he is also the director of coaching at Lakeview Soccer, and frankly, Lakeview in New Orleans Aint Dere No More. He'll probably stay in Dallas since he was hired by the soccer booster club at Jesuit, not a school employee.
Did I read it correctly that BM lost to Holy Cross and STP?

What he's saying tigerdawg is that those goals were made off of mistakes. Of course, that is part of the game, but without one or two of those slight mistakes, the score would have been closer. Granted, they might not have played their hardest, but even an LHS reserve team is hard to beat.
