HOUMA — No matter how hard it tries, the Vandebilt Catholic girls soccer team still has last season’s 2-0 loss to St. Louis Catholic in the Division II state finals in the back of its minds.
And whenever the Lady Terriers think about it, the pain from that loss still follows.
“What I told the girls right at the end of that match last year was to remember how bad this felt, and to remember how bad a taste it leaves in your mouth,” Vandebilt coach Philip Amedee said. “And that next year, we didn’t want this same feeling, and we needed to work hard from Day 1 to make sure we had different results at the end of the year.”
