A few news items for referees. Events available this summer. 1. July 16 - AT the LSA Summer meeting in New Orleans - We are bringing in Former Fifa AR Kim Oberlie for a day long referee session. Kim is a Former FIFA AR, a current national inspector. A very dynamic speaker, she will be addressing several topics starting at 9 am Saturday July 16 in N.O., hotel not yet set. Her topics will be directed toward Professionalism, Foul Severity spectrum (what's constitutes a foul, what elevates a foul to misconduct) and AR skills (positioning, prioritizing focus, when to become involved, standard mechanics, etc). She is a very dynamic speaker and well worth the time to come and listen to her. No cost, no registration required. 2. The State Referee Committee is offering any local area an in-service training session for local referees in any area. Any local referee association may request a session. The local association can select the day, the duration and the topics desired (or we can provide possible topics). Cost to an association is zero. You only need ask. Send an email to any member of the SRC and we'll schedule an event for you.
These are two great opportunities. We hope you'll take advantage of them.
